He talked with his doctor this week after a "scare" that ended up being not serious thank god. She is all on board for the "harm reduction" methodology of e cigarettes as she has given him every other NRT in the past.

I got to do his start up kit shopping last night, and pick out his sampler of ejuice for him. He's so excited and he picked it up pretty quick! I'm so glad I found vaping. I'm so glad I am in a position to help him. A couple years ago I'd cheer him on while we tried the patch only to both fail miserable by week 2.

I am pleased to report on Day 2, he has not had one analog today. Gonna have another vaping success story on our hands, I can feel it.

Super fantastic news. Sometimes it takes a good scare to get us to do what we already know we should do. Glad to hear that his wasn't serious. And am thrilled to hear that we have another Doctor that isn't just sticking with what doesn't work and giving him the go ahead with what we know, does.

Woot! Another convert! I never tire of applauding when I hear someone has given up analogs for vaping! I did the patch 13 years ago and though it worked, it was miserable. This time I was thrilled to be turned onto vaping and it has been so pleasant and so much better. What an amazing wife to be so supportive and even help pick out a starter kit! Once he gets into choosing flavors and finding gear that he loves I know he will be so grateful.

You are one, GREAT WIFE, supporting and taking care of hubby like that in his hour of need!

For what it's worth, I had my regular checkup with my doc 2 weeks ago. I proudly announced that, "I have been off the cigarettes for 7 months now, BUT, I have been using an e-cig regularly", and whipped out my ego twist. I asked (and I QUOTE), "Do you approve?"

I was waiting for the lecture that was sure to come. She just smiled from ear-to-ear, gave a two thumbs WAY high up, and said [and I duly QUOTE], "I have been trying to get my boyfriend to switch to e-cigs for over a year now." After I fell off the examination table, she took my blood pressure and it was normal.

Please tell your husband to just heavily lean on the vapor in the early goings (to kill off that urge for nicotine, no matter what....), no matter what kind of kit he is working with, and I'm sure (WE'RE sure) that he will successfully get off the ciggies permanently. It's even way easier than it looks, imho.
Good luck!

Hahaha! I told him with the extra money we're gonna be squirreling away in the bank account, I'm going to take him somewhere pretty and warm and tropical this winter. Once I explained stealth vaping in the JFK airport bathroom he was even more on board! And considering we're in NYC, where analogs are $13/pack - we're talking like $650/month! Seriously, this is how much we loved cigarettes. We were paying $700 + a month. That's my brother's mortgage payment. Oy. I am lucky that he is a complete tech no-knowing. He doesn't really know how to buy things online and relies on me. It was fun to pick out his starter gear though.

I got him an Evod VV and Innokin Dual Coil 16 clearo, and an Ego-T with some standard CE6 clearos as a backup. I got him a BCC to try too. I also got him a Kanger 808D, a couple Kanger T4 clearos and a set of Halo refillable carts (which I really like.) As a newbie, he likes the feel of a cigalike, particularly for going out.

My primary care doctor was cool with ecigs too. She actually smoked through med school, so she knows how hard it is. One of the reasons I love her so much. She doesn't say dumb useless crap about total abstinence that she knows won't go anywhere with me. The husband's doctor is of a similar mindset. Whatever gets him to put down the cigs is an incalculable improvement. With vaping he can step down the nicotine (I'm already on 6mg from 18 mg after a month.) And he can do this without being so distressed that he ends up going back to analogs. And that's the most important thing to his doctor. She told him that in her mind quitting via vaping is probably as "dangerous" as quitting via sucking on a ton of hard candy, though the former won't result in a large dental work bill.

My husband is a good deal older too. Its basically my job to take care of him. LOL So smoking for him is a very long term habit. There was one time, maybe 10 years ago where he did reasonably ok on the patch for about a month. He was freaking out but he didn't fold right away. But he went right back to smokes after a particularly stressful work incident. This man loves smoking. He loves everything about it. The fact that he has got through the day without buying a pack of analogs, or without freaking out about how he NEEDS a cigarette is absolutely amazing and a real testament to the potential of ecigs as a public health policy.

Oh and I have to add, he already asked this AM if they have a "root beer" flavor! So he's ahead of the curve, a lot of new vapers want just tobacco for a while. LOL.

I'm still new enough where I'm still trying out different juices, though I have about 3 or 4 that I like and will reorder in 30-50ml when I run out. But I used the Zeus Halloween coupon to order up 5 - 12ml bottles in a mix of tobacco and beverage flavors for him for less than $25. Of course I get to try them all too. Boy I'm so glad to have a vaping partner in the house now.

My super wife made the difference for me, too. I looked into ecig say few years ago and they were ridiculous to me. Wife encouraged me to check it out again and, what a difference. It's been over a week without analogs and I'm loving the vape experience. It's my new hobby after having to give up paintball two years ago due to I'm too breakable at my age. I haven't gone this long without a cigarette for years!

Here's to supportive partners and a great community. Cheers!

Tell him not to kick himself if he cheats a little. I quit on accident! My plan was to vape at home and in the car cause my family kept complaining about the smell. I was still going to smoke while at work. But I found myself vaping at work too cause it tasted better! Finally I just quit buy cigs and haven't had one in over a year.

Here is a thread to the most popular juice vendors out there now per ECF posters in the thread. Also, get him a protank2 or a protank2 mini. They are glass and they will not crack with that root beer juice. Some juices will crack plastic clearos.

You both are doing just fine. He sounds motivated and you are both lucky to have such open minded doctors.
