*To clarify my post, I'm not looking to use a LR atomizer with a 6v setup. I'm wondering about the LR atomizer when combined with a 3.7v setup*

I've been vaping at 6 volts for over a year (practically since I began vaping) and I really enjoy it. The problem is that I find myself going through quite a few atties. I used to use 901's and I was lucky if they'd last a month. I've been on 510's now for about 8 months and, although they've been more durable than the 901's, I still find that I'm replacing them much too often. I've gone the high resistance route and wasn't satisfied.

So, I'm wondering - from anybody who's been a HV vaper - if the LR route is the best option. Is the HV experience maintained in a LR vape? Do the atomizers hold out longer than a month?

I'd love to hear from any HV-to-LR converts, as I'm sure you must know what I'm dealing with (and you have the perspective). I'd especially love to hear from someone who is a heavy vaper like myself.

Regards,
BB

ps - if you know of an atomizer out there that gives a 510 experience while lasting much longer, let me know.

[I apologize if this has been covered before; if it has, feel free to post a link to the topic.]

Sorry if there's been a confusion, I'm not looking to put a LR atomizer onto my 6v setup. I'm just wondering if a LR atomizer [combined with a 3.7v battery] gives a HV experience (with any benefits of a longer lasting atomizer).

OP has been edited to clarify my request.

The jist of my post:
Does a LR atomizer utilized at 3.7v give the same experience as a standard atomizer at 6v? And does the LR atomizer at 3.7v last longer than a month? (And keep in mind I'm interested in comparing the use of 901-vs-LR901 or 510-vs-LR510 atomizers)

Again, sorry for the confusion.

Here's what I can offer:

I started w/ a 510 mega batt and standard attys. Loved it. Then I got an Indulgence w/ LR's. There was no going back. I eventually got a 5v GLV and figured I could never go back to 3.7v. But, that being said...a combination of a good 18650 mod and a Cisco LR atomizer is just as good as 5v vaping. The Cisco LR's take a BEATING. I dry burn mine at least once a day when changing flavors...and both my Cisco LR 306 and Cisco LR 510 have been going for over a month. I started using my Cisco LR 306 back in late September, and it's now December. They are unstoppable. I have not heard any reports of Cisco LR atty death to this point.

Long story short, you might pay $9 for a Cisco LR, but it's worth every penny!

. . .I was curious to know what the ohm rating is on the atty's you use at 6v?

They're just standard atomizers, so I think they're around 2.5 ohms. I don't have a meter, so I can't give you a concrete answer on that. And to tell you the truth, I'm not even certain on the manufacturer. I've been buying my 510's from R&R Vaporz and Rocky Mountain Vapor (if that helps at all).

basilray, appreciate the response. Where does one pick up a Cisco LR510? Would you happen to know how many watts that these pull? I know that's one of the things that makes a satisfying HV vape for me being that the standard atomizer at 6v pulls a higher wattage (giving a harsher vape most people don't care for, but it's been working for me).

I couldn't find any info on resistances for those sites either. I can tell you that I pop anything under 3 ohms almost instantly on my 6v. 2.5 isn't designed to be used over 5v. Have you tried 306 atty's? They're supposed to hold up better than 510's. I haven't tested them yet but I have one on the way. I got my HV306 from Ikenvape. They also sell HV510 but they're out of stock right now.

EDIT: I forgot you mentioned that you've tried HV atty's. BTW, which PV are you using?

I went from 5 & 6 volts back to 3.7 which I thought I'd NEVER do using the LR attys. I am smitten with the Cisco LR 306 atomizers and they last me about 1 month which is pretty reasonable considering they are consumables. I used the Cisco LR510's as well but...the 306 is hands down the best vape hit I've ever had. Love them.

Also many folks that vape heavy find if they up the nicotine in their juice they vape less throughout the day, another thing to consider.

Good luck!

I found 6v nice but hard on the atty.

I built myself a variable voltage mod that works great. Search the forums for Evercool and you'll find plans for it. I find around 4.8V to be my sweet spot now - excellent warm vapor production, good TH, and long lasting atties.

I use M601XL aka M301 atomizers. They were what I started with, and after trying several brands of 510 atties I find they give a better taste and are quite durable. I've been using a couple of them for over 2 months now . I've only killed one of them, and that was the one I played around with when I was learning how to clean them.

The couple LR atties I've tried were decent, but not at all durable. One died after about 2 weeks. The other died instantly (but in it's defense, my brother hooked it up to my VV mod without realizing it was set to >5v...)

@ M0dr0d: I'm using an Xhaler

@ laurel099: the 306 is the atomizer that has 510 compatible threads, correct?

@grantemsley: which LR atomizers did you buy?

Appreciate the responses everybody.

Regards,
BB
Yes, 306 has the same threading as 510. Ikenvape sells HV versions that are 3.5 ohm. They work great.

The standard attys from RRVaporz meter out between 3.0 and 3.2 ohm for me. It's been a while since I metered any, but that's what they typically start out at for me.

Glad to hear you jumped on the Cisco LR bandwagon. It's a great place to be! My Cisco LR's receive a beating but keep on rocking.
