So far I have 2 auto batteries and a bunch of prefilled cartos. I recently ordered some juice by accident and I was curious if I could just reuse one of my empty cowboy menthol cartos and use it with the auto battery, or do I need to order some of the blanks and a manual battery and drip tip? Wasn't sure if there was any difference between the cartos other than mine we already filled at one point.

You should be able to refill the ones you have. Do they have a soft top? Can the white top be removed, or is it glued in?
No, they are OK to refill. It's easier to use them with a driptip though, instead of having to take the top cap on and off. However you could use a syringe to refill these from the top, leaving the cap on.
When they start to feel a bit dry, pop the cap off, hold the e-cig about 20 degrees off the vertical, and drip 6 or 8 drops into the top, while rotating the unit, aiming to get the liquid to run down the side and not into the center. All these cartos can be refilled, whether pre-filled or blank.
If pre-filled, you can also use a different flavor to what was originally in there, as long as it is complementary (does not clash). So you could refill with caramel after tobacco, vanilla after toffee, one tobacco after another. But banana after tobacco might not work
Note that you should be very careful not to overfill these as an overfill will cause leaks. If you have an auto battery, that could kill it. Refill little and often. It's possible to get over 15 drops in these but you are pushing it, then.

I forgot to say, you can refill these about 5 times (this means about 5 x their 20 drops capacity - so about 10 x 10 drops maybe) before they start to die off due to getting crudded up. At that stage you can wash them out or throw them.

The V4L series is the KR808 model, so to fit 510 series stuff you'd need a KR808-to-510 adapter from Madvapes, Good Prophets etc. However the batteries are not big enough to drive some LR stuff satisfactorily. In other words, don't attach anything with a resistance lower than 2 ohms or it may not work well, and it may shorten the life of the battery. In practice this means you can attach standard cartos from another series, with the adapter. Or an atty & cart, or even better an atty & driptip as that is the best system for testing flavors.
There wouldn't be much point in attaching a 510 Boge carto as that is basically what the V4L cartos are, with a KR8 thread (V4L cartos are from Boge, liquid is from Dekang). Boge-Dekang is the same firm, one side does hardware, the other side does liquid.
By all means get an adapter so you can attach a 510 atty and driptip, as that is kind of a benchmark set-up for testing flavors. After that you might be better off going for a bigger battery model, at least for use at home even if you don't as yet want to use it out & about. Others will maybe chime in here with what works well with your existing KR8 cartos, there are many options, changing all the time.
