I'm wondering how hard it would be to remove the black paint from it and fully polish all of the body and caps?

Has anyone done this?

Hi Bandit, if you want to customize, why not add some fingernail decals? SharonM first gave me the idea. If you look at Claires, Walmart or a beauty supply you can find tons of them in all colors and designs. They last a long time before coming off, just wipe the prodigy surface with alcohol first.

I got some colored attys and change the decals to match. I just bought some red stripe decals and ordered a red atty. Kinda fun. :)

In your bushes, watching you undress
Bandit- that's not just black paint. It's powdercoating. Not recommended.

Ahhhh :( Thanks for letting me know!

I'm not sure, but my man-card may be revoked if I am caught buying fingernail decals and using them on anything I own ;)

If you don't have a problem with cost, you can find a plating company that offers nickel plating or chrome over aluminum.

They would be able to strip the paint prior to re-plating, then plate over it. You would be subject to a minimum charge and may end up costing you over $100 to get this done.

A cheaper option may be to get it sandblasted to remove the paint then get a polishing wheel that you can attach to a drill and polishing compound.

OR, to get even cheaper, you could get some sandpaper, start with something in the 120 grit range, then drop to 220, then maybe some 400 grit. Then go with the polishing wheel and compound. This is more work but a lot cheaper. The only thing with this method is that you wouldn't be able to get the paint out of the "Prodigy" etching, but that staying black might look pretty cool.
