Welcome to the forum.

Good luck on the switch and it is possible as many have done it. If you want something inexpensive try V2 they are a decent disposable. Of the ones you can find in stores I found V2 to be the best. Once you decide you want to invest a little then I'd say do some research here, ask questions look at the reviews of the different ecig options that are out there and then buy a unit. Put some time and money into trying a lot of different liquids (e-juice) until you find some that you like. A lot of the dealers have sample packs for cheap and you can try a bunch of different flavors.

Hi. I'm brand new too. Got my 1st puff 3 days ago. Been a heavy heavy smoker for 40+ and KNOW i HAVE to quit. Have quit thousands of times and started again a thousand and ONE. I had no idea this "industry" existed. I only thought it was like the little "walmart plastic cigs", which I tried, knew that they weren't going to do anything. A buddy let me try hers out with an new "top" on it and I was quickly down at the smokeshop getting my starter kit. 3 days and less than 3 regular cigs later, I'm just about sold. Got a cheapie set and am already wishing I had better batt's, but today am going to get some 1100mah er's...just using the ego t thing, but the mainest thing is my wife is playing pretty serious TOO!!!! YAY!!! So,we're learning fast as we can, and its suprising that I find out she is a much heavier smoker than I. I just been doin it WAY longer. I know we'll end up with some good equip, once I figure this out. It's not an expense here, it's investment! GOIN SLOW....

I lurked here on and off for something like 18 months.

Anyways, in that time the technology has changed a lot, eGo stuff was popular when I showed up, but between then and now a lot of better stuff has come along.

I recently bit the bullet and got a KangerTech starter kit, two EVOD VV batteries, two mini protank IIs, a charger and a some extra Kanger coils.

The coils got nasty in about a week, so by then I was looking at what I could do to rebuild mine - I got some Kanthal wire and some CVS sterile cotton balls. I studied the video in my blog, he talks about building coils/heads for my specific gear. Its not hard, just takes some effort and the vapor is WAY better. And no more wet burnt sheepdog tastes (thats going to happen with dirty/burnt out coils and wicks).

I started with 24mg juice and quickly ordered 18mg and then 12mg stuff. I tried Alice in Vapeland's stuff, Ahlusion, and Nicoticket. They all have nice flavors and Ill probably end up with some more bottles from each of them.

AiV = 12 bucks and some shipping will get you 5 3ml sample bottles (and probably a bonus bottle thrown in, AiV will send you a really awesome package too, its like a birthday present). I got a bigger bottle of their April Moon. Really tasty.

Ahlusion.us = I went and just got a 30ml bottle of Blueberry-Vanilla Cake and man I like that stuff. Looking at buying some of their fruit juices (pear or maybe a honeydew) since stuff is on sale for BF/CM this weekend.

Nicoticket = Clark and co. make some interesting juices, so I tried 3 + got a bonus bottle sent cuz that was an offer at the time. Custard's Last Stand is really tasty. Altered State is good too, and Betelgeuse is similar, both fruity mixtures.

Dont skimp on cheap juice! I cant stress this enough. Later you can learn to DIY (this is where folks save money, by not buying heads/coils, they fix up their own. They learn to make DIY juice and it will save quite a few bucks in the long run. Then you can splurge on your favorite juices from a vendor, as a bonus).

It gets easier and I really think that the fake e-cigs (made by big tobacco) are made to let folks 'try' vaping and then see that its awful, and sends them right back to using cigarettes.

Right now Black Friday sale stuff is happening all over the interwebs, so take advantage of that, get a simple starter kit and some decent juice and see how well it works for you. As suggested above, 18mg or 24mg stuff might do well for right now. I know that 24mg stuff made me feel crispy, so I dont use it often at all now.

I pretty much dropped cigs cold, the vaping was so effective. But give it time and ALWAYS ask here if you need more information. Everyone here went/is going through what you are now.

PennyVaper.com this is a nice site for looking at prices of things too, the MVP 2.0 is a nice piece of gear and for 40 bucks..its cheap for what it does. That + two-three tanks, and some juice and you will be quite set for a month or longer, if you really want to dive in this all the way. But you can just get a simple kit from Vape Dojo too if you want to do that. They sell basic starter Kanger kits for cheap. Its where I got my EVOD VV setup.

Welcome! I too made the discovery that there happened to be ecigs available in some local pharmacies where I live and had no idea how long they'd been available one once I got started the search was on.

Good luck and keep an eye out for a simple passthru to save on batteries. As soon as I have a 2 dead 510 bats I'm going to take them apart and hook up a solid plugin. One of my passthrus that I bought has already started giving trouble with the electronics.
