Hello I have been a lurker on this forum for a few weeks, and in my last post I asked about websites to buy diy supplies from, I have since bought my supplies, and watched many videos thanks to you guys for answering so promptly with great information.
I have a few questions, first off, what is the proper way to clean your syringes, and pipettes. And other such measuring supplies.
Also i have seen many posts on cleaning your atomizer, I have a joye 510. I have had mine for about a month, and am starting to taste a burnt coffee taste no matter what the flavor drops I use, I have religiously blown through the atomizer and stood my atomizer upright over night, but have heard that there is more I can do what are your suggestions other then buying more atomizers....

cleaning DIY tools - I like simple, soap and warm water and then air dry

For the atty it sounds like a burnt wick. You can try carefully pulling it out and that will most likely fix the issue. Just make sure you have a backup. I would not do this if it was my only atty.

Profile pic - I think you need 10 posts to be able to add pic.

Oh yeah and welcome to ECF and your new found hobby. Enjoy

Welcome hbockes:

You need to have 15 posts or so to be able to ad an avatar picture, as for cleaning, good rinse with Hot Water seems to work for me. I soak my atty in Isopropyl Alchohal , blow it out and let it dry for a couple of hours, should be good to go.
Enjoy the DIY journey it can pay dividends for sure, and its kind of fun too.

Thanks
Jeff~

I clean all of my DIY equipment with soap & water. It works great. I never clean my attys. I just blow them out once or twice a day, and most of my attys have lasted me for months without any problems. I try to use different attys for different flavors. There are a lot of opinions on this subject here on ECF - find one that works for you.

Thank, no this is my only cig so far, I bought it at a local gas station, and luckily didn't pay too much over what you can get them online for, or I would have kicked myself. I was just frustrated because I left almost a whole carton of cigarettes somewhere and a friend of mine had been bugging me to try one, so instead of buying a new carton I just got the e cig. I am planning on buying a back up battery and atomizer soon, probably next pay day. I am so excited about this, that I have to remind myself that I am trying to save money not spend every extra dime on e cig supplies ^_^. I wouldn't trust myself taking out the wick. I have seen how people soak theirs in alcohol. Or run it under hot water, I'm just worried that if I get it so wet that it will ruin it. I am so scared to loose my only one and have to wait a week for a new one.

Buy more atomizers as soon as you can. The average life of an atty is around a month or so. You may be lucky and have it go longer, but you need spares. In the mean time, I wouldn't mess with cleaning it except for maybe vaping some pure VG in it or blowing it out. Anything more and you're risking losing your only atty IMHO. In the mean time if the taste is really bad you can try to mask it with something really strong like cinnamon or menthol juice.

Very good advise in my opinion. If money is tight like mine, you might consider the E2 R4. They're a pita to use but folks are reporting long life as one of their big advantages. The way they are made, I would think that they should last just as long as any good atomizer. You can research them more here. 510 E2 R4 Cartomizers, 2.8-3.0 ohm, 5 pack
