Good luck!!! I smoked a pack a day for the last 20+ years. Started vaping @ 24mg and 2 days later I completely stopped smoking cigarettes. The biggest thing about quitting, YOU have to want it. Not your friends, wife, girlfriend, doctor, etc. Until you decide to make the commitment it won't happen. I'm so glad I decided to make that commitment. Previous attempts had always ended in failure. The almost 2 months that I have been vaping has been the longest I have gone without a cigarette and I truly feel much better for it.

Again, good luck!!!

If you are at 36, then your body may be looking for more then nicotine. I'm fully convinced that cigarettes are far more addicting then the nicotine alone. I'm one of the lucky ones who just so happened to be more addicted to the oral fixation thing and the nicotine then whatever else is in them. In your shoes, I would consider looking for Snus, or WTA liquid. WTA stands for whole tobacco alkaloid I think. I don't know much about it, but others may e able to help you out on that.

Good luck George! I have been vaping off and on for three or four years, but wasn't happy with any of the cigalikes I tried. (I had also used patches a number of times). This time, I tried an EGO clone, and like it much better. I also finally joined this group, and it is like having a support community.

I bought the kit a couple of days ago, and went from a pack and a half a day, to about half a pack so far. I am starting to enjoy smoking less, and vaping more, partly because the system I have now is better, and partly from the support of this community. I think this time, I may be successful. I hope you will too!

welcome to the fix! here you will find lots of information on the products, techniques, and solutions that have worked for many. Read and absorb the knowledge and experience of others and apply them to your personal preferences and habits, to gain the freedom you seek.

personally a 2.5 pack a day smoker I found that carto tanks and protanks have best filled the breech of changing over from analogs to e-cigarettes.
since you were smoking @ 80 analogs a day you will want 3-5 batteries and 6 to 12 tanks, so that you don't smoke while waiting for batteries to charge and tanks to clean and fill ( or simply refill) , that's what helped me quit analogs very quickly, I didn't need to smoke once I had enough supplies to make it as convenient to vape as smoking, and even to the point that vaping was more accessible and convenient. making it so I didn't have to fiddle around with the gear when wanting to smoke was key - and with the spares I could vape and do any gear maintenance needed, like fill or charge etc.

find a local vape shop and sample all the flavors and find few you like, you will be surprised at what you like ( but don't over load up on any as your tastes will change over the next six or more months as you senses return)

have fun as this is your NEW YEAR!

You are NOT kidding. I had a TERRIBLE two week period a few weeks after I quit cigarettes. Worst anxiety/depression I've had in a LONG LONG time. I'm convinced that their are other chemicals, possibly antidepressants, in cigarettes - which would explain the chemical imbalanced I experienced.

I'm positive there is. I began having severe anxiety as soon as I quit, and ultimately had to go on Paxil months after the fact because I continued to get worse despite having zero desire to smoke anymore. Then I remembered I began having panic attacks at 21 and they magically went away once I started smoking.

There definitely are other chems in analogs that we become dependent on. I noticed this when I switched from Marb's to rolling my own. I was getting pure pipe tobacco and filling my own tubes. I went through some withdrawl issues even with that. I was still smoking tobacco but it didn't have all the other "stuff" in it that manufactured cigs have.

Now I'm going through the process again but on to vaping (again). This is a process, a migration. One day at a time and one analog less each day. I'm not gonna stress over how many I do smoke but rejoice in how many I don't smoke. This is also a great hobby and I can buy loads of stuff because my wife agrees because it's getting me off smoking :)

I wouldn't start out that high...you gonna over nic if you not careful. Even with this you are going to have withdrawl symptoms from the thousand other chemicals in cigarettes. But I do promise it gets better! For me after a couple of months I had no cravings at all and now Im at 6 mg and I vape cause I want too...not because I have too. Its nice to go out and not have that constant worry about having a vape. I might vape while Im out and about but a lot of times I don't even think about it.

I look at it like sipping a good drink.

Me too. I am smoking so much less now, and when I do smoke, it doesn't feel as good as it used to!

I know what you mean. I used to smoke like a chimney. But other the last couple weeks I'm down to less than a pack a day. The few I have smoked today have only been half smoked so I come back to them later. I'm slowly cutting them back down to none. I'll be happy once this migration is complete. I did it before I can do it again.

The message I try to send to everyone is that it is a migration process. You are migrating from one thing to another and I actually had the exact same feelings and withdrawl like symptoms when I switched from name brand cigs to rolling my own. Just shows how much crap is really in store cigs to keep you a junky.

I agree with coca 36 mg/l is a bit high

I started with 24mg/l and even that was high. I sort of depends of the type
of addict you are. So of us are/were really hooked on the tatical part of smoking
something to do with our hands. If you are that type then you will be hanging on to
and vaping many hours a day. If that happens you will get too much nicotine.
Get the jitters, trouble getting to sleep etc. sort of like too much caffeine.

What is really important is to get good equipment. Forget Blu's and copycats,
get the good stuff , mods there is a number of great stuff out there.

Welcome to ecf. You can do it!! We can help!!!
