This is a different sort of thing, that will eventually, make you hate regular cigarettes. I recommend a 510 kit from Cignot. I do also recommend that you don't get too wrapped up in staying with tobacco flavors. That is what I did. Order a 510 kit with a tobacco flavor, a fruit flavor and a pastry/coffee flavor. You'll see what I mean after about a week. I'm just guessing, but I used to smoke almost 2 packs of camel wides per day... I use around 24 - 26 nic juice and am doing fine! If you smoked a pack or less, try 11 - 15 juice.

My regular cigarette consumption is going down everyday! I have had 2 real smokes today. They actually tasted dirty and where un-fullfilling. I was skeptical at first, but this vapor thing is really working. No withdraws at all! I no longer "wheez", my teeth are starting to whiten, my kids love the fact that they don't have to put up with the smell, I can regain my breath much easier after loosing it from vigorous activities, the flavor is better and I don't smell like an old ashtry all of the time!

Good luck.

PS- I am not affiliated with Cignot in any way. For vendors (thus far), I recommend Cignot, MadVapes, TastyVapor and DIYFlavorShack.

Well your taking the first step and that is what counts. Cignot is a really good place to start with they have the 510's which got me off the real smoke(anologs), they also have the Ego which is like the 510 but beefer, the battery life last 8-10 hours. play around with different juices and be opened minded because what you think you, what you think you will like , will change.

Thank you for the quick replies everyone. Yes, I am going to take your advice budster. I visited the Cignot website, please forgive me, but I don't know what to start with, there are so many of them. I should get one of the starter kits Joye 510 correct? And why most of them come with 2 cigarettes? don't we just need one because the Cartridges are the ones need to be change not the cigarettes? Also what is automatic vs. manual? which one do you prefer? I need you help here.

Wish bone go with the manual, you will quickly adjust to it and will, in the end, want it anyway. The 2 "cigs" are the batteries, one to use and the other stays charging.
The ends are the things you will fill with ejuice.
They come prefilled with a tobacco type juice. Be sure to order more juice while you are at it , you will quickly need it. Order a three pack of the Joye 510 attomizers too , they are an item that does wear out and needs replacing eventually , and you dont want to be stuck without one,
Yes get the Joye 510, or if you are ready get the Ego, it has a much longer battery life in between charging, 6 hours or more,

So there it is in a nutshell, the intro to vaping, your gonna love it :)
Cignot is a very good company to deal with too. You will have no problem with them.

You get 2 basically because the battery life and atomizers wear down.

Batteries last 2-3 hours depending on your usage.
So they give you two so you can use one while the other is recharging.

And atomizers wear out, they say about 4-6 months.
I'm still new so I haven't worn any out yet, but it's always good to have backup.

That is probably the best reason for multiple....Backup, just in case something breaks or is lost.
So you won't go back to smoking in such cases.

Now, I agree, don't limit yourself to tobacco flavors.
Personally, I never liked menthol cigarettes, but in an Ecig, menthol has become my favorite flavor. Possibly because it's the strongest...i dunno..
But definately branch out and try stuff.

But as far as advice for Ecigs....Don't expect to quit right off the bat (though many end up doing so).
Have your mind set to just cut down on the cigarettes.
This way you are not dissapointed if you are still sucked into smoking a regular cigarette now and then.

Also, try thinking of it this way. This is the thought I put in my head, and I haven't had a regular cig since the very first puff of an Ecig. And I was a pack a day for 23 years.

"I'm not quitting, because I don't want to quit.....I'm just switching brands
And hey, my new brand doesn't cause cancer"

That thought process worked magic for me.

Good luck, you've made a great choice to vape instead of smoke.

The batteries don't last real long of the starter kit so you really do need to have two batteries and atties don't last forever. I think most people prefer the control they get with a manual, it's just a button that you push so the atty gets hot. With an automatic it starts up when you take a drag however, I have heard they are a little less effective and you can't drip with them. (put drops of juice right on the atty). I also got my first kit from cignot, I was a menthol smoker for 25 years but I don't care for vaping Menthol there are just too many other flavors that taste better. You could also check out MadVapes and R & R vaporz. The mega kit from MadVapes is nice because the battery life is longer, also their liquids are great. Also if you are at the computer much of the day a passthrough is great the 5 volt from MadVapes rocks.

I concur on all of the above! I didn't start vapeing to quit smoking. I started vapeing so I could "smoke" in the house..................been almost 6 weeks without an analog, by accident. So, if I can "switch brands" after a 28 year, 2 pack a day, I know you can too. Good luck and be sure and read and ask questions.

BTW-Welcome to ECF and enjoy............. :)

Welcome, 510 is a great choice.

While reading ecf threads you will see a faint underline on several of the abbreviations . If you hover over the abbreviation it will spell out its' meaning.

One of the best reads in here when obtaining info is "The Wonderfull World of Vaping" part 1 thru 6 located in the ECF Library.

I am one of the lucky ones' that quit smoking right away after 30+ years 1 pack a day. Vaping is such a pleasure.

Good luck

Much good advice above! 2 cigs in a kit provide backups, etc! I don't think you'll be dissaponted. Keep in mind...

The "BIG TOBACCO" companies put chemicals in cigarettes to keep you addicted! Lets just call it chemical X! Once you break your addiction to chemical X, your home free. You start to hate the taste and smell of real cigarettes. Sure, nicotine is addicting, but, as I have read here, is not a carcinogen. There are 3000+ chemicals in a real cigarette. This stuff works!!! You'll be saying in a week or two, that yes, I hate the taste and smell of real cigarettes, and I can beatt this addiction that big tobacco has given me! Sure, I like my ecig, but it was a little (I mean that literally) getting unhooked from chemical x.

I feel so good saying that me and my wife had a real cigarette last night at 8:00 pm. Since than, I have had 2 and she has had 0! Once again, this really works! I did smoke the 2 because I got ...... about refilling carts! I would have rather had a good pull of RY4 from my 510, but it was too conveinent to grab a Camel wide. But, it tasted like chit, but I got my nicotine...

On a side note, mornings are hard for me! I had a Camel wide first thing this morning...I never thought I'd see the day that I said my mornings are hard so I had 1 real cigarette!

When I wake up, I have hungry cats meowing "Breakfast is late", I need to "hit the head", I'm Jonesing for some coffee, etc, etc, etc... But, overall, this thing is working. Best of all, I'm feeling better!!!

I haven't tried the 3 piece systems yet, but if you want convenience, consider getting some 510 cartomizers with your kit. I use the smokestik and although I'm probably going to get an Ego 510, I do like the convenience of the cartomizers on my smokestik. I'm going to probably go that route with the 510. I've read of too many hassles with the atty's giving a bad taste and I really don't think I'll be dripping, so for me, the ability to have a cartomizer last me most of the day without doing anything to it is great. Also, if you lurk around here and on youtube, you'll find lots of tutorials about refilling them.

I definitely agree with the others who say that after a bit, the taste of vaping is way better than the taste of smoking.

Good luck!

Hi Wishbone!

I have only found one tobacco-flavored liquid that tasted like smoking a cigarette - Vapor4Life's "Parliament" flavor. However, there are several liquids that taste like a freshly-opened pack of Brand X smells, and even though I haven't smoked Marlboros in years - I had to switch to additive-free when the Mbos started giving me migraines - I love the liquids that give their "chocolatey" tobacco taste (as I remember it).

Chiming in with all the others above, though, don't limit yourself to just the tobacco. Vaping is a satisfying alternative to smoking; with a mini e-cigarette like the 510, or one of the l88bs (like Volcano or Sidesho) and tobacco-flavored liquid, it's really close to smoking a cigarette and the convenience of doing it indoors, in your living room, in the car with nonsmokers or children, at work, etc. makes it preferable in some circumstances,

But don't be afraid to branch out from there! It was when I sat down with a new Janty Stick (which looks more like a car alarm remote than a cigarette) and some Code Red liquid I mixed up myself from cherry and Mountain Dew flavors that I realized vaping is not only as good as smoking, it's as good as sodas. And a little dark-chocolate/mint liquid is as good as dessert. And I won't go into the joys of a good roast-beef/mulled-wine combo while watching the Food Channel...

There's tremendous value in vaping to replace smoking, but there's also a lot of fun to be had in vaping as an art and hobby unto itself beyond cigarette replacement and I think that's what makes it so useful in trying to quit. Nicotine replacement therapies (like gum or patches) don't address the physical or social habits associated with smoking, so they're less satisfying. Vaping can be almost exactly like smoking, and thus more successful as a NRT. However, it can also be more fun than smoking, and that lets smoking fade into the background - not forever the thing you're avoiding, not forever the thing you're resisting or replacing. Just this thing you used to do, until you found a better thing instead. :D
