Is there anywhere to find a list (that isn't some kind of advertisement in disguise), that ranks the most popular e-cigarette brands? And one that explains all the parts of the systems in a clear, simple manner for neophytes? And a list or resource that shows which e-cigarette cartridges (i think that is the word) replicate most closely the brand of tobacco cigarettes one currently uses?

Also, keep in mind; There aren't really any direct translations from "Marlboro Light" to "X" cartridge or liquid flavor.
You'll never accurately reproduce a cigarette taste since you aren't burning paper and tobacco.

That being said, there are lots of good "tobacco" flavored liquids but finding one is all trial and error.

the other 2 responses couldn't be more true... it's really about the models some will be better at certain aspects than others...
the wide world of vaping 6 part article in the ecf library is probably the best place to start...

aside from that you're simply not going to find an e-cig that translates to this one most closely resembles a marlboro or this one a winston or that one a virginia slim etc...
they simply arent going to replicate exactly or very closely a traditional cig...

the best possible advice I could give is to try to forget trying to ecatly replicate your brand of traditional cig...
just think about what is most important to your needs.... high vapor production, high or low throat hit, battery life versus size, how it looks....
I can almost promise you that size and looks will almost certainly eventually take a back seat to function..we see it happen daily with other new people....look around enough and you'll see many threads where the person says I started with x because it looked like a cig....then I tried y and wish I would have started with that first...

the taste is going to be dependant on juice...and while some try to replicate the tobacco brands...you're not going to find anything that nails your brand exactly....this is largely due to the fact that you're burning tobacco and it has all those additives and chemicals that are pretty much impossible to recreate in something not burning and without all the extra chemicals..

about the flavor it's true HOWEVER something happens to you when you start vaping... I can't explain it, I didn't even think it would happen to me (die hard camel filter smoker for 25 years - hated every other brand out there) but you change. All of the sudden you want to vape banana flavor or chocolate or candy cane flavor.

I can't explain it except to say that I think we've all collectively lost our minds. One thing is for sure, you have to try to keep an open mind because e-cigs will surprise you.

Here's a great place to start:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html

Good Luck!

I bought a Tornado, regular. Very strong 650mah battery with a manual button so you can use eliquid. You can go 8 to 12 hours before re-charging. Bought the kit at Totally Wicked.com. 65 dollars. Two ecigs with charger. I quit analogs since day one. Getting all the nicotine I need. Strong battery. Extra e liquid with glycol to cut it.

Being of little experience and having spent more money than I should have experimenting with the next best e-cig in somebody's opinion, I would recommend, like others previously that you look at the information in the "Sticky" threads first and foremost. I have read through tons of these threads and it is just overwhelming without having any practical experience with one of these devices to use as a reference point.

I have tried 4 different models in just over a month since starting into this and can say that with a little patience and experience I was able to get similar performance out of all of them, once I figured out how to use each one. While optimal performance may be similar, how long that can be sustained can differ drastically, mainly due to battery capacity and cartridge/cartomizer size (i.e. fluid capacity). Go through the sticky threads to get good generic information on the models, basic operation, etc. and then pick one that you think fits your needs and then play with it for awhile before jumping into the next best thing.

The one and only e-cig I have used and can highly recommend is the Ego. It is a 510 with a large battery.

It is not everyone's favorite, but it is highly rated by many.

Most of the super minis (the ones that look like a real cig) don't have much battery life.

So far I have been unable to find a liquid that tastes like a real cigarette. Not that I'm looking any more. I think what people mean when they say they want an E-cig that tastes like their brand of cigarette is that they want an E-cig that feels like their cig when they inhale it. After all, does cigarette smoke really taste that good? LOL.

There are as many different nicotine juice flavors as there are cigarette brands, probably more since the same flavors will vary greatly from one vendor to another. Everyone's idea of a good tasting cigarette is different, just as everyone's idea of a good tasting nic juice is different.

Bottom line is: You won't know what you like until you try it. Goes for hardware and liquid.

Read all those stickys and watch all the videos. That will help narrow things down for you a bit.

There is no one that works best for everyone. Some may even need more than one for different parts of their lives but it's all worth it if you quit smoking or even just cut down. Because everyone is different you may get one that you don't like. Or you may get one that you do. Either way it is better than smoking. There is a lot to learn but the best way in my opinion is just to get started, then don't stop. Jump in, the waters fine.

After all of that, plus one on the Ego 510.
