Hey,

I've been smoking for a few years, and the last time I went to the gas station to get a pack, I noticed the Dune Cigs Nicotine Free Disposable E-Cigarette. I thought it looked kinda cool, so I bought it and became completely infatuated with this e-cig thing. Unfortunately, try as I might, all the research I do just confuses me more and more.

I want to buy a starter pack of some kind (I like the idea of great taste (fruit & menthol, mostly), and that is honestly my biggest deciding factor at this point) but I don't have a clue what to buy. I have gathered that there are some e-cigs where you just screw on the "cartomizer(sp?)" and it packs the flavor. I think there are also some where you have to pour juice in, somehow?

If someone could, in a simple and straightforward manner, explain to me what would probably be the best, most simple, great flavor brand for me to buy, I would love you forever.

Thank you!

A good place to start is with the forum guide Best E-Cigarette for a New User. It's easy to understand and there are more links on the right. Once you've read that and thought about what type you want, and know a bit more about how they work, then you will find it easier picking a brand.
After that the juice part, I'd say.

Check out smokeless image. They have nice starter kits that are reasonably prices. There is also a 15% off coupon. They have prefilled cartos and you can also refill them. The smokeless image volt is the most recommended mini on here. The 78mm battery lasts about 3-4 hours. They have a customer service that is second to none and fast shipping. Check out this video which explains the whole line and vaping in general. It also talks about what you need to be successful, regardless of what system you buy. You will also see the X2 battery, which is an ego style that allows you to use the cartos from the small batteries as well as ego threaded ones like the vision clearos and Kanger T2.

Though some will probably come on and recommend against a mini ecig (something that looks like a cigarette), I feel it's the easiest and best place to start. It gives you the same feel and look of what you are used to and makes for an easy transition. The smokeless image setup is different from the old mini's. They have as much voltage or more than the joyetech ego and gives a lot of vapor. You may eventually upgrade to something bigger, and people will tell you to skip this step to save money, but when you compare it to how much you spend on analogs, it's not a waste. I quit a 1 1/12 PAD habit the day I picked up my smokeless image products.

Welcome!

Check this out:
Best E-Cigarette for a New User

There is so much info out there. It is total information overload for most new vapers.

I am guessing you want a new e-cig (or PV as well call them here) with lots of juice that is simple to use. People here will give you lots of suggestions, but I think to start you want a simple PV starter kit and the option to get cartomizers that are prefilled with juice.

One of my friends really likes Vaper4Life. They do ship to Canada as well. I tried the peach cobbler and it was pretty good. They have lots of flavors. Taste is really subjective.

You could get a simple starter kit from there:
Original Vapor King Value Starter Kit - Original Vapor King - Starter Kits - Shop Our Products | Vapor4Life

And then order some prefilled cartridges in a variety of flavors:
Cartomizers | Vapor4Life

You can get them in 0 mg (nicotine free) varieties.

This will get you started and then in future, when you are ready you can look into how to refill the cartridges yourself, or upgrade to a more powerful PV, etc...

Hope this helps.

Depending on your smoking habit and how long your battery must last to be effective will make a vast difference. 650mah would be the smallest for the average pack a day smoker, available in eGo, kGo, e-power, and other models, but will last most of a days worth of vaping. (always carry a spare battery :))

The bigger difference will be in the cartomizer or atomizer you use on it. Cartos tend to be a bit simpler for a beginner, more forgiving, which one is best....now that's a long term argument here on ECF..

Cartos are usually reasonably cheap, you can try one or two of a variety and see which you like best without breaking the bank. Boge or Smoktek cartos and CE2 - CE3 - CE4 - CE5 all have their fans that swear by them, and can taste different depending on the thickness of your e-liquid.

Juices and flavors have recommendations all over ECF, and since nobody's taste buds are exactly alike, take them with a grain of salt..:) Try small sampler bottles 3-5mL and see what hits your sweet spot. The ones that are a little off, put away for later, your taste will change as the damage from smoking heals.

I agree with MrOutlaw, the Volt by Smokeless Image is a great starting tool. The kits are inexpensive (always get a kit with at least 2 batteries, 1 to vape while 1 charges so you won't be left without). The product is quality. The customer service is outstanding. Yes, there are other batteries out there, other brands of minis, and other bigger and badder batteries to be had. If you want simple, and you simply want to quit smoking, then I do recommend the Volt for the aforementioned reasons. The Volt helped me quit, and I still use my Volt batteries. The Volt does have the step up to a 650, 900, or 1300 mah battery, if you were to decide to go that route, and there isn't need for replacing the cartos and accessories already at hand. Anyway, this is my opinion, and I don't believe there is a better starting tool out there. To start does not mean having to spend a lot of money, it just means finding the right tool to be able to say with confidence that you are a non smoker. Whichever path you choose, I hope we will see you around for a good long time. :)

So, Welcome, tayalov3!!

Hey, I was just like you...but after reading here I bought a Volt. I'm no expert, but I've been using it for 2 1/2 days, refilling my cartos and have cut my 2-3 pack a day habit down to 2-3 cigs a day. I already feel like a pro lol. All I can say is that I'm really happy and excited with my progress. I don't want to sound like a salesman or anything, as I'm sure there are other products just as good or better, but as one noob to another, it's working for me.
