I Am Surprised I Don't See More Forum Members Mentioning This

I'm 35 and I smoked for 19 years. I quit smoking - today is day 7. I cannot believe how much better I feel. I've been reading this forum since I quit, and most people mention improved taste, smell, and ability to do exercise. I want to add to that list the things that are most notable about my improved health:

1. I have way, way more energy.
2. I have been sleeping less (6 to 7 hours), but don't feel tired.
3. I used to feel "hungover" (achy, nausea) and dehydrated in the morning, but don't anymore.
4. All of this has contributed to me being in a much, much better mood (especially not feeling tired all of the time).

I haven't seen this (level of energy, mood, and sleep) mentioned much and am surprised. The change has been so dramatic to me, and I am curious if others have felt the same.

I think most of the energy gained from quitting the analogs has now been put into hours and hours of late-night research here on ECF, so it's kind of a wash. ;)

At any rate, I'm glad it's going well for you. Heck of a way to start off 2011, isn't it?! :)

Amen to that! My experience is identical -- this is better than a group therapy session!

Agreed on all points - how about being able to take really deep breaths again? Another thing to mention however, is that I noticed around week 3 or 4 symptoms of detoxification. Not sure how much you smoked during your prior life - but - get ready, if your experience was like mine -- you'll really start to feel your insides changing around this time...

It is a great thread, in 10 minutes it will be 24 hours since I've had an analog and that is a first in 25 years. I'm having a few moments of really wanting one but for the first time in 25 years I haven't given in and gone to the store. Wish me luck.

Good luck! My first day was the most difficult but it got better much faster than I expected. Once I made it through the first day, I realized that it was actually possible, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment, and the rest has been much easier.

I smoked at least a pk. a day for 48 years & ruined my lungs.
After 3 weeks on the pv I fell better than I have in about 20 years.
I have stopped the smoking cough, increased my stamina, look better but more than any of those.
I DON'T SMELL LIKE A CIG ANY MORE.
All these things have made my life better.
Now if I can just get the Better Half to quit I will have it made.
I have recommended this to every smoker I know to try to help them quit analogs.
With all the money spent I have not spent as much as I would if I were still on the analogs.
It is a WIN, WIN situation as far as I am concerned.

Keep on Vapin',:vapor:

Hey Phig,
What is it about those women that can make a man change something like that?:hubba: It doesn't seem to work near as well when we try to change them.:lol:
I have been vaping for about 3 months and In the process have started several folks on their first e-cig kits. I just got a call from my son who watched me vaping for the past week and thought it was dumb. Well now he wants me to send him a kit "right now". He says he must have it! I think it was his wife that did not think it was dumb.

Got my eHealth eCig on christmas day off a friend who knows I've tried quitting a hundred times. Not wanted an analogue since, not even when out drinking on new years eve or boxing day. Drinking was always my biggest trigger for analogue cigs, a drink is just way too wet without one.

Here I am on new years day still vaping having bought my second eCig (the UK made intelliCig)

I don't feel physically different yet, but emotionally it feels like someone opened a door to a room I've been locked in for over 20 years. I'm downright evangelical about eCigs and cant wait ill I have enough money for a 'big-boys' PV.

All starter kits should have a warning message:

**** WARNING: This kit WILL completely change your life. ****

AMEN!!

I got my original NJoy NPro from 7-11 just out of curiosity - I had no intention of quitting whatsoever ... I just wanted to see what it was like. I took the first few puffs off the e-cig and was like "Are you kidding me? This is friggin great!! And it's not bad for me? What the heck? I don't get it!!". After I recovered from the mental cluster-fudge, I gave up smoking all together after 4 days vaping ... I had smoked for 19 years, and I was smoking 30 to 40 hand-rolled cigarettes per day (Drum or Bugler). Once I started vaping, I just lost the desire to continue smoking.....And I don't miss feeling like crap, smelling like smoke, or being a pariah. Now ... how to get that smoke smell out of my house...
