I have been vaping for 3 weeks. I love it. I am hoping this is the answer to kicking regular cigarettes for good! I have had cigarettes, but less than a pack in 3 weeks! And that number is going down as time goes on.

This week I have been coughing. The past couple of days I have been coughing every time I laugh! Annoying, but my research is telling me that this is likely because my lungs are cleaning up. OK. Got that.

But I have had this low-grade fever for 5 days. Of course, this sucks. I am achy, tired, uncomfortable, and lazy. My fever at it's highest was 101.6 two days ago. However, it is mostly lingering between 99.8-100.5.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am finding that flu-like symptoms can occur when quitting smoking, and many of these symptoms are itemized and explained. But fever is not specifically mentioned anywhere that I have found so far.

That is what I thought at first. And maybe this is the case.

I have had close contact all week with small children, my boyfriend, and friends. And I am the only one who is sick. I was on the way to the store to purchase some Nyquil one night so that I might have a restful evening of sleep, and then it dawned on me that this may be from the cigarette withdrawals and/or introduction of my e cigarette.

The coughing and the fever are my only two symptoms. No stomach stuff. No nasal stuff. No throat stuff. No headaches.

I hope that I am just sick so that I can keep vaping. I have received advice from a quit-smoking-counselor to quit the e cigarette immediately. So I became a member on here to find out more about other people's real experiences in hopes of salvaging my new vaping thing.

a quit smoking counselor is going to tell you to stop anything that has nicotine basically and especially the ecig because it still keeps the physical habit.
Never heard of anything in terms of a fever in reaction to vaping. I'm 3 weeks into vaping now (not my first time vaping however) and all I've experienced has been stomach issues (a day or two of acid reflux), occasional head because I vaped a lil too much, and some less than "solid" visits to the bathroom... The acid reflux and ........ where both at the same time and there was a cold going around at work, so who knows but the acid reflux happened on a day where i didnt eat much and was vaping. Regardless I went easy on the vaping for a day or two until my stomach felt better, or if i needed it i took light drags instead of full so that at least I had something.

Biggest thing that Ive learned is to keep hydrated when vaping. Since you're most likely just sick, hydration is a great idea. Hopefully you feel better soon and keep on vaping

Quit-smoking counselor's are all against vaping. It hurts their paycheck.

My strong guess is that your symptons have nothing to do with vaping or even stopping smoking. They are classic flu-like symptons.

unfortunately when it comes to vaping your doctor can not comment on as it is not fda approved and thus they will tell you to quit.....

though with any chest cold docs always suggest to stop smoking while recovering, lmfao do/did we ever listen?

Vaping however doesn't need to be inhaled into lungs unless you want to. Vaping works better to draw into mouth and out nostrils to absorb the nic.

but again, as with any fever...keep any eye on it and see your doc. Fever is a sign of your body fighting an infection.

it is 'flu' season, but if any question or prolonged sickness, see a doctor !

as far as the quit-smoking-counselor , seek another opinion (a ga-zillion people can't be wrong)

but if you think it is vaping, postpone it till you get well...
also some are allergic to PG juice (I am) do you know what your juice is ? (PG/VG ratio)
and then there is dehydration ecig newbies get bad...

either way, it should pass in few days, if not see a doctor ! 8-o

The other day I was vaping non- stop and felt warm but no fever. It passed the next day and slowed down my vaping but I love i so if I feel it come on again I will just slow down my vape intake. Other wise I felt fine not sure it was the vaping.
well you can over nic yourself....i've done that a few times lol...but yes drink plenty of water and usually within a day you feel better...but as stated a fever is your body's warning sign of trying to fight an infection (parenting 101 )

IMO its the flu season but if it gets worse see your doctor.

I go through this every year when the weather swings back and forth. I also went through "the phlems" after i quit. It seems to be normal and may last upto a month. Mine started after the first week and lasted for a couple more weeks. Now i get them once in a while to a milder degree. If i would have just quit, i bet it would have been worse during the flu season.

Hang in there and stay hydrated with water. I prefer distilled/purified water because tap water taste funky to me and i use it for cleaning some vaping stuff too. Gallon jugs of distilled water are very cheap.

Try the "plop plop fizz fizz" cold formula. I just use the generics from Walgreens or even Family Dollar. Nothing works better for me when i have a cold or the start of a fever. I know it taste terrible but you can use Gatoraide or other "sports drinks" instead of water to help the taste.
