As I've read, there are like five main factors in weight gain after quitting smoking.

- Nicotine, being a stimulant, makes the body burn more calories.

- Increased taste sensation, leads to food bein' flat out yummy.

- Smoking makes digestion less efficient, meaning that less of the food is absorbed in the gut.

- Smoking has a satiating effect, making one less hungry.

- Ex smokers tend to eat more to make up for the oral gratification they miss.

It'd be interesting to see a study comparing weight gain for different quit smoking techniques.

The first week, I didn't eat any differently, but this week? I get hungry earlier and when it hits, it hits hard. Food. NOW. When I went shopping earlier in the week, I noticed I brought home more munchie type foods than usual, too. I'm not real thrilled with this. I don't want to put back on that .... I'd lost a couple years past.

I'm still not going back to analogs. Icky. Nasty.

Have you heard about cinnamon and weight loss? Here's a quote from an article:

"In addition to helping prevent and improve insulin resistance, cinnamon may aid in weight loss. The reason is the fat cells that exist within the abdomen are quite sensitive to high levels of insulin and are excellent at energy storage. Due to the fact that the fat cells in the abdomen are close to digestive organs, and there is a widespread network of circulating blood vessels in the area, abdominal fat cells have an easier time storing excess glucose. Therefore, by reducing sugar levels, less glucose will be consumed and stored by these cells."

Here's a link to the full article if you want to read it:

Does cinnamon vaping count? It's one of my favorite juices!
