Hey guys. I have been vaping for a long time and jus recently was able to actually quit smoking analogs and just vape.

I started out on cigalikes, moved onto an ego, got a vv ego style, then went up to a bagua 14500 mod and now I have a k101 mod with an igoW that I think is around .3 ohms(My b&M built it for me)

Now, I am finally off cigs and dont ever want to buy any ever again..the thing though...I have turned into a huge chain vaper. I am puffing all day. Always wanting to vape. But I am burning through juice like crazy. I remember the days of using a clearomizer on the ego and filling the tank and it lasted me all day. Now I am questioning my choice of a mech mod.

Should I go back to the ego? I find myself not charging my batteries and using them when they're low so I can vape with the voltage drop that comes with almost discharged batteries. What is a vaper to do?

Thanks for all your guys input. I am at the point now where I want as much flavor as possible and decent throat hit. I guess you could say I have outgrown the cloudchasing and now want to enjoy my vape more and make my juice last longer.

It sounds like you just need to use coils with greater resistance. Try using a coil in your igoW that is built to .8 - 2 ohms. It will give you plenty of flavor without burning up the liquid and battery so fast. Depending on your current nicotine habit, you may need to raise your nic level slightly and then taper back down. Good luck!

it is set up in dual coil right now. So you think I should go back to a single coil? i dont have a multimeter at home but I do have some 28 and 30 guage kanthal and some of those jewlers screwdrivers. I am pretty sure i could wrap one but just wouldnt kno how many wraps to do

You could use an online coild building calculator like Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators or Coil Toy - Online calculator for e-cigarette resistance coil building to gauge your build.

:rules: You must have an ohm reader or DMM to measure ANY build BEFORE you put it on your mod and fire it.

Baditude - ohm meter.jpg

You can get a box ohm reader for $16 at RTD Vapor.

Baditude - Omnitester.jpg
You can get the Omnitester for $20. It will measure both coil resistance and also the voltage of your battery.

Baditude - digitalmultimeter.jpg

You can get a digital multimeter from $8 to $19. This will also measure both coil resistance and your battery voltage.

Hm, not very prudent. That is some good advice, could you shed some light on why it is not recommended?

In general, an over discharged/drained battery may cause an internal short. It may not be able to be recharged or may potentially catch on fire when attempting to charge it.

I feel for ya. I can use 3ml a day in my protank. But, in my RTA I use about 8ml a day. I use 24% nic in the protank, but only use 18%nic in the RTA or I get a nic buzz(1.3ohm coil with SS mesh wick suggested voltge is about 3.4 and wattage is8.8 and gives an awsome TH and vapor) . As for draining the batteries, they can overheat!

With Lithium-Ion batteries, the lower you drain them, the weaker they become fast and the shorter their life span will be. Li-Ion batteries can be used for a lot longer when you try to keep the charge level as high as possible.

0.3 ohms is close to borderline low as most meters will have a little bit of discrepancy with reality. Also, trusting a coil calculator is taking for granted the wire you are using is close enough to perfect to disregard possible tolerance or manufacturing issues. Trust the meter first, then don't take for granted the reading is not that precise. 0.3 could mean 0.26 in reality... nothing is made perfect, that just is not possible in our universe. I've seen plenty of production lines to guarantee that no 2 items are really identical.

Sure, some people successfully use less than 0.3 ohm coils daily. Know what to do, how to recognize the signs and be prepared to react FAST in case of a battery fail. I don't mean to scare you, but being aware is being one step closer to being prepared.

Ok so I understand the premise of safety and usage of the multimeter. I assume though, that I can get relatively close with good wrapping and that if we are talking about relatively close and in the range of 1.3-1.7 that safety would be ensured. It is not like I would be trying to wrap a .3 coil and mistakenly wrap a .1. Does that make sense or do I just sound ill informed?

right now I am on 12% nic level mountain gal and I havent had an analog in three weeks! I am really proud of myself. If I have to I can always go back to 18 or 24 from AVE Juice. I just love me some Bobas

Do you make your own juice? I've been vaping for 3 years, and I got through A LOT of juice. And if you've finally quit cigarettes, vape as much as you need to. Most of us are chain vapers, lol. What sucks is, premade juice is so EXPENSIVE. Not expensive compared to cigarettes, but compared to DIY juice. I'd learn to make your own juice. When it costs you $1.50 to make a bottle of juice, you won't care how much you use.

While safety is never ensured when using batteries, if you are using .3 ohm right now, even being near the 1.3 to 1.7 ballpark with the same battery setup would greatly increase your safety along with liquid and battery longevity. Try it with the 12mg/ml (NOT 12% lol). Even if you need to take it higher, you will stay away from the coffin nails until you can get some 18 or 24. :D

that sounds really interesting. I would most definitely be interested in learning how to do that. The trick is that I am sort of a flavor snob. I will not have any fruity flavors, they make me ill. I am always hunting for a good tobacco flavor but can never find one. The only flavors I have found that I actually enjoy are AVE flavors and one from my local shop called Last Emperor.

What sort of flavors do you make? PayPal to send me some to try your recipe?
