On January 28 is when it started. Only having vaped for about one week and switched to cigarettes until my mail arrived. got my first e liquid and clear tanks, Loaded it up with chocolate and got nothing.

Did some research and discounted it to steeping. After about a week I ordered another flavor, it was tobacco and it had no flavor. Ordered some virgin vapor juice, root beer, French toast, kettle corn, and coffee. Got a little from the two syrupee flavors and within two days that little disappeared.

Decided I had dry mouth and went on the water warpath, nothing. Tried biotene, nothing. Tried a tongue scraper, nothing. Tried using unflavored for a week, nothing. Tried a variable voltage ego twist and alternated flavors, nothing. I currently have more flavors coming in the mail that include two minty and Cinnamon flavors but this is getting close to three months. I don't even know what the flavors I have taste like. If something magical doesn't happen with this last attempt then I'm just vaping unflavored juice from here on out.

I must have angered the vaping gods or something. I could try burning a crucifix on to me tongue.

Hi - it sounds like you've done a lot of research, so you may have come across this already, but just in case you haven't: Taste Buds and Vapers Tongue

I smoked for a very long time and my taste buds were pretty trashed. Luckily, I got turned on to a flavor that by all accounts of others who have tried it is insanely strong. It was only juice I was able to taste for a least 2-3 months. I still can't taste many of the subtle flavors other people talk about - but I also broke my nose a few years back and my sense of smell (which is an important part of tasting) isn't all that great anyway.

The juice (which is still my daily vape) is RH Candy Cane by Vixen Vap... I get 3x flavor/medium menthol. Maybe it might help.

It is good to hear than I'm not the only one on earth with this issue for so long. The other circles I've talked in never heard of such a bad case of vapers tongue. I guess there hope for improvement. I do know that I can taste menthol so I have hope the minty and cinnamon flavors will work.

I think menthols, mints and cinnamon might be the easiest to taste, they were for me anyway.

Are you're sinuses OK. Most of our taste comes from the sense of smell. If that's messed up you won't taste much of anything. It had been mentioned here on the forum by people who are experts on the subject. The tongue is only capable of tasting sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. The rest of our taste comes from our sense of smell. That's the reason when you're really sick with a bad cold nothing tastes good.

Hope that helps.

Well, they aren't okay and have never been okay. My sense of smell is weak and my nose is always partially stuffed up. The issue I have with considering that to be a cause is that these factors were also present when I could taste flavors.

After knowing that someone else has had this happen in a very similar way I may just try to work with what I can taste an expect a very long process of returning to normal.

Don't you just love the reviews that discuss, a hint of nuttiness, but just on exhale, slightly sweet on inhale, with a floral scent and a brief taste of coconut on every third puff, with graham crackers on the fourth. Heck, if I could taste one of those, I would be a happy camper. My taste buds and nose can only tell if it's good, OK, or ewww. Not exactly a connoisseur. Hang in there...it really does get better.

Suggestion: If your sinuses are partially stuffed up frequently you'd likely benefit from using strong menthols. I know I've been going through bouts of my sinuses closing and opening a bit more frequently since I've stopped smoking, but one of my primary vapes is SubZero from Halo. It's a fairly potent menthol, and when I vape it I can notice quite a difference in my sinuses.

I agree with Ocelot on this one. Mint or menthol is the one flavor that I can always taste. I make it in a 50 ml bottle and will mix in other flavors if I feel like it. I have a Flavor West strawberry that is such a realistic, strong strawberry, it's my favorite right now. Also really like it with coffee, pralines and cream and blueberry.

I don't know if this was touched on, but I too have acquired this unfortunate "ailment". After experimentation I think I've narrowed its cause (at least for me) to vaping a Red Hots flavoring for a couple of days then trying to switch back to a milder flavoring, it seems that the intense flavor shot the buds, because when I now vape anything with cinnamon in it I can taste it just fine. Don't know if this will help or not, but figured I would just contribute.
