I've had the stuff for weeks now, but finally took the time to do it.

First I tried a micro coil. Everyone makes it sound so easy, YouTube makes it look easy, the guy at the vape shop said it's the only way. It turned out nice looking. Problem was the silica (I know, I know) wouldn't fit through. So, I tried cotton. It worked. I tested it on my ohms checker and it read 4.0, lol. I was curious enough to try it, but I didn't care for it. It soaked a WHILE. Still tasted like cotton. I've read so many different types of cotton to try and they all make me unsure. I can't say I'll be using cotton.

So... I didn't want my first build to be completely fruitless, so I tried just a regular ole coil like the ones that come in the Evod or Protank heads. It first tested at 0.4 ohms. NO WAY. I tinkered with it, found that I hadn't trimmed the kanthal enough at the post, I have old eyes. Tested again, voila! 2.3 ohms. I was happy with that. So I loaded it up, waited for the juice to soak in, and it's been yummy.

I feel like I've opened a whole new can of worms. My boyfriend said that can opened a while back.

I used 32g Kanthal and 2.5mm silica. I have no idea why I ordered those sizes, I completely guessed at it.

Well done! The small gauge Kanthal is why your micro came in at 4 ohm. I'm guessing probably around 10-11 wraps give or take? The lower the gauge, the thicker the strand, the lower the resistance per foot. I have some 27 awg on the way, been working with 32 and 30 so far, all cotton wicks. You've opened Pandora's Box, just FYI :)

You guessed correctly, and that's very helpful, thank you. :)
