The swing arm is from Darwin, the box is from madvapes, and the chip is from Dimension Engineering.

I do love this box.... Project Box 1.97 x 1.4 x .79; it's (wait for it) small and fits the hand really, really well. In fact it fits quite easily in the palm of my hand. There's room for a couple of 16340's and a VV module of your choice. Not much extra space tho.

The swing arm mount was a bit of a challenge. I've got it mounted in a brass bushing and shimmed from the top so, in the months ahead when it starts to loosed a bit, I can replace the shim with a thicker one and tighten it up. Another part of the build that took a bit of work is the rotation stop. Since the + and - connection wires run through the swing arm, I had to make sure it doesn't cartwheel and break them off. Right now I've got it dialed in for about 270 degrees which seems about right; but I can adjust it up or down if I need to.

All in all an enjoyable project and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thats a really clean combination of all the essential elements of a higher end mod. Very nice work and Im sure it was a fraction the price of something off the shelf with similar features. Where is that voltage readout passthrough from? I have been interested in finding something like this but have been too lazy to make one of the voltmeter from MadVapes...

Also, did you attach a knob to the VV adjustment? Ive seen that product on Dimensions website but I didn't see any knobs. Figured it would require a tiny screwdriver for adjustment...

The swing arm is left over from another mod I'm working on using Darwin innerds. Rather than letting it sit in the parts box, I wanted to put it to use and make something a bit different. Not sure where they are made or the cost.

Volt meter is one I've made for months. Hammond box and the standard 2s-6s meter. The size box has always been just right for my use; not so small I can't find it on my excessively cluttered desk.

Pot adjustment is a landing wheel for a RC airplane and a piece of brass tubing.

Last bit of modding will be installing the case closing magnets. I've got some new shapes on the way so in the meantime I'll just use the screws that come with the box to clamp it down.

The box is really is a winner for anyone making a VV box mod and want something very compact. Can't say enough of how much of a winner it is.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
I thought that was some brass tubing :) Nice wheel too. 5cardstud did a nice wheel by attaching a spring to the pot. I tried some strangeness but ended up taking it off to save some length, but I do keep thinking about some other practical solution. I find I really don't set the voltage all that often so the screw adjust is pretty adequate.

It really is. I've yet to find anyone who actually fiddles with the adjustment once they have it in range for the atty they are using. Anyone using a VV has enough experience to know where their sweet spot is for each type of atty. The tubing (hobby store) is a perfect fit for all pot screws; it slips right onto the screw. If it weren't so dang easy to add and I could keep up with my screwdriver, I wouldn't fool with adding a wheel.

Very nice work, as much as I dislike the swing arm on the Darwing I must say it looks dam fine on your little box.

Cudos ...

That means the "other half" of this project (darwin innards minus the arm) would be something I would love too.

Thanks...and I'm stoked but cautious about making it. VERY cautious because I don't want to screw up something I can't fix. I've got the switches removed from the board and wiring soldered to connect the switches I'll use so the hard part is done. The contacts on the board are way closer than anything I've ever soldered. All that's left is finding the right enclosure. I could stick them in a brick sized box if I didn't hate wasted space so much. Since it's a special mod and something I'll never do again, whatever work it takes; it takes. The temp box will be plastic, but I'll pull out everything and install them in a much nicer enclosure after I know everything is right where I want it to be.

I like the swing arm on the Darwin because any position I have the mod is the right position to vape. The feature is a big design plus over a static connector. If I could change something I'd use a standard on/off instead of the swivel; but that's just me. Even if the Darwin had a garden hose connector it would still be my mod of choice because nothing I've used comes close to producing the vaping experience it does. It's an amazing PV created by people with a helluva lot more smarts than I have.

Yeah Para but it's so cool having the wheel there

Very nice work Para! Is the VV unit this one 3A Adjustable step down switching voltage regulator ? That is a nice one and alot smaller than the ebay one yea? A little more spendy but worth it if it's that much smaller. Thanks man...WG

That's it; it is spendy but it works and works really well and is small and easy to install/wire....so I use when space is a premium. I'm sure there are chipsets that are cheaper and smaller and maybe even better, but I know what this one does and I don't mind spending 25 bucks for something I have confidence in from a company who stands behind it's product
