I am about to give up. I am really just at my wits end over here. I got my 901 a short while back, and after using it for a day began having a reaction to the PG or so I was guessing. I put it aside and ordered some Non-PG from Johnsons Creek, and it arrived a few days ago.

Now my first cart worked wonderfully, well until day 2. Suddenly every time I refill a cart, I get a mouthful of the stinking liquid! I am not even really filling them all the way up and still it happens. I read that a bad battery can cause this but is there any way to test it? It happens with both the batteries I received with my 901, and I don't think I can return them due to the delay in getting to test them since I had to wait on a separate shipment of liquid. Plus I read they are closed till March 20th or so.

I really do enjoy vaping and in fact am on day 3 of no analogs and would love to stay that way, maybe I am doing something wrong? Ugh I am just so frustrated. Any help or advice is appreciated.

--Oh, and I should mention I have tried blowing in the battery, cleaning the atomizer, have tried about a half a dozen different carts, and as I said earlier not even filling the cart up and still consistently getting liquid in my mouth.

I went through a period when I started having this problem. For me it had something to do with the cartridge I was using. The only problem I could physically see was the brown plastic part had been cut a bit by the end of the atomizer. Not really sure if thats what was causing the problem, but after trying a new cartridge it was corrected.

if you've tried different carts and the batteries are okay, i would guess you are pulling to hard. long, slow and gentle pulls eliminated the liquid migrating for me.

try changing your avatar. it won't help with your problem, but it's freakin' me out. lol

The only thing I can think of is too much liquid in the carts or sucking too hard. I'm not sure how a bad batt would cause ya to get liquid in your mouth unless again from sucking too hard. If your new to this the vaping technique takes a lil bit to get used too. When I started I got a bunch of liquid in the mouth also, try not to drag so hard, just enough so the batt lights up. You could also try dripping a few drops right on the atomizer(1-2 drops max) and make sure you have the blank Cart that came w/ your cig attached since there is not filling in it and it might help ya to avoid a mouthful of liquid. other then that just mess around with it, it will take a few days to get used too. Hope this helps, good luck... ~Lane:)

Try removing the cart from the 901, wrapping Kleenex around the sides (covering the grooves that lead to the mouthpiece), and blowing through the mouthpiece. You will blow any stray liquid away from the mouthpiece into the tissue. I used have issues overfilling the 901 carts and do this regularly. nothing like a mouthful of liquid... you'll get the hang of it.

CssReb I have actually watched that video a good four or five times, and have been using the top off tips shown, as well as several of the others.

I just went and got my second to last cart, and tried the slow pull just barely pulling hard enough for the light to come on. My battery went blink crazy then just stayed on, I unscrewed it, but now the atomizer tastes like burnt hair. I moved over to the other atomizer, did a slow long pull and once again the battery went nuts. I unscrewed this one apparently before the burn taste settled in.

On top of that the cart seems to be dried out after two or three pulls, which is much different than the several I was getting with before this. I have got to be doing something wrong. I have watched the above video, as well as Spikey's video and am doing as they instructed, so I dunno what my problem is.

Going to try and get my friend who started me on vaping to make the trip across town to see if he can help me in person, I have a feeling the real problem is just that I am an idiot, haha!

Kreed, Your e-cig may have done the auto clean. Man when it does it tastes NASTY. How long have you had the e-cig? Depending on age and use the batteries may be going bad. There are several ways to clean the atommizer as well. I put my atomizer on the end of a tube and suck hot water through it several times to clean the atomizer. Then let it dry out for a bit. As for filling the cart I just drip the juice directly into the cart. Sometimes I will take the filling out rinse it under some water, dry it out and then put it back to start a new flavor.

Had the e-cig for maybe 9 days or so? But only been able to use it for about 3 since I had to wait on the different liquid. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening again, other than watching the LED like a hawk and preparing to unscrew it after every pull?

On a side note I am jealous of all the folks I see in the tutorial and review videos. They make it look so easy! Also I wanna be able to get a large vapor amount like they do, heh.

Hi Kreed,

I've had my 901 for about as many days as you have and experienced the same thing at first. Are you using the prefilled carts or empty ones you fill yourself? I've found that the prefilled carts are the ones that I end up with juice on my lips/in my mouth. The empty ones I fill work really well. I haven't experienced the auto clean yet.

suggestion... certain flavors of VG seem to do a number on the atomizers...

try taking a long puff and then pulling off the mouthpiece and looking at the atomizer.. is it orange? does it get hot?

Then I suggest... drop 2 drops of liquid (NOT Johnson Creek wild cherry!!!) on the atomizer arch and use the mouthpiece that came with the 901 (not with a cart.. JUST the empty mouthpiece) and try puffing. With dripping you never get a mouthful... but this will help be sure your atomizer is actually working...

I got the 901 from Puresmoker since that was where my friend suggested. I do have the prefilled carts, Marlboro 555 Low to be exact. I have just been adding the Johnsons Creek Sweet Strawberry on top of it.

I think almost for sure one of the batteries is bad. I did as you suggested Spikey, and both the atomizers turned Orange and seem to be working. I replaced the battery with one fresh off the charger and whoa what a difference, No liquid in mouth, and large amounts of vapor. The problem is it only lasts a short while, and by the time I go to refill it its back to liquid in my mouth and poor vapor. I don't get it, I charged the batteries for the amount of time suggested when I first got them, I think it was 24 hours, not sure would have to recheck the paperwork, and since then I let them sit for no less than 5. Is the 901 meant to only hold a decent charge for an hour or so?

With PureSmoker in the middle of a move, I can't obviously report the battery as faulty since they are closed. Is there anyway to increase the life of the battery?

Also, with PureSmoker down, and me blowing through carts trying to figure out whats wrong, any suggestions as to where to pick some up for a decent price? I didn't even know they made empty ones, since when I went to PureSmoker the dropdown just had various flavors. Yes you can now be amazed by how new I really am >.>

Anyhow appreciate all the info thus far folks I am sooooo glad this forum exists!

You can actually pull the stuffing out of the carts. Rinse them under water until the water is clear. Dry them out with by squeezing them with paper towel and restuff back into the cart. Now you have a clean empty cart to fill with whatever flavor you like. I purchased my empty carts from www.thesmokelesshop.com.

You don't really NEED to purchase new cartridges yet. You can just take the stuffing out and run them under water as another user suggested, then dry them off in a paper towel, put them back in the cartridge and fill it with some of your own liquid. Or if you don't mind the combination of tastes, just top the cartridge off a bit.

I use my cartridges for QUITE a long time before I switch them out. I got my 901 over a month and a half ago and I still haven't gone through all the carts that came with it (I think I got 10?).

As far as your problem, I'd agree with the others when they say light, long pulls. It's NOT like smoking an analog. Also, I'm not sure if you'r doing this, but make sure you don't have the LED end of the Cig tipped up... That doesn't help at all.. heheh

Good luck, you'll get it. I think we all go through the initial frustration stage in the begining. I know i did! Now I'm happily vaping away....for the most part! hahah

Well I do have to buy the new carts since in my frustration today I trashed the ones I tried when trying to figure out whats wrong. Oh well live and learn, still have a few left so I can survive till I get some more. I think a big part of it was like you all were saying, I just pull to hard on it. My friends used to call me a "powersmoker" since my average time for an analog was about a minute and a half, so I just need to slow down a bit.
