I can taste my juices!!! I'm so very happy today!

I picked up vaping a few weeks ago. The first few days I still smoked 2-3 analogs a day (Newports) & quit analogs completely on September 1st. vaping has eased the cravings & gotten me through but I seriously thought I was missing something. I couldn't rave about flavors like I saw other members doing. I couldn't really taste any of them. I bought several to try & the only two that I could really stand was V4L's Wow Smilin Special Menthol. Everything else I had just tasted like a jumble of flavors. Most tasted like I threw apple pie, tobacco, vanilla, cherries, and a banana into a blender and burnt it.

I knew my taste buds were going to take time to recover, but everything I googled said it would take about a week. I was beginning to think I was going to be stuck vaping minty flavors forever. Then, last night at dinner I realized that The pasta sauce tasted like the best thing I'd ever eaten. My partner assured me it was good, but not anything spectacular & certainly not any better than the 100 times I had previously eaten it! My taste buds must be coming back!

First thing this morning, I got into the office and started looking through juice that should have tasted great to me but didn't. I tried a few & I could taste them!!!! everything I tried tasted exactly like it should. I filled a carto with Vape-A-Licious's AG's Dream & it was incredible tasting. Cherry limeade tasted just like cherry limeade!

dl;dr: My taste buds are getting better & now I have a bunch of juice to try again for the first time! For newbies that can't taste their juice, Don't give up on a flavor you thought you'd like but didn't. Hang in there and try it again later.

Quitting smokes will improve your senses, but sadly the taste bud malfunction will return from time to time.

Does this happen to everyone? Kindof makes sense. If you suck on atomic fireballs all day everything you eat that day is going to taste like cinnamon. I'd expect the same with a cinnamon liquid. Do the taste buds just get fried by certian flavors or nicotine strengths? I'd imagine the strong ones like Menthol, Clove, and Cinnamon would cause it.

I have not heard of a vaper who's never lost his/her buds. My latest theory is our taste buds need fluids to stay alive/active and PG and VG are humectants that suck them dry. In another thread, they say using Biotene for dry mouth helps. I just stick with sipping water frequently.
