I can't get ANY avatar to work - help please

Can someone help me please?

I have been rotating avitars for over a year now, and now the system won't let me use ANY avi. Has anyone ever had that problem? There is an option to "Reset Fields" but I haven't tried it - hate to go mucking around with buttons that I don't have a clue about. Please and thank you.

Sea, what's the error code that you are getting ??

I'm not getting an error code. Here's exactly what happens:

I choose Custom
I choose Browse
I choose the avi that I want from my hard drive (Pictures)
I choose Open - the path is then inserted into the Custom avi dialogue box - okay so far (just like I've been doing for the past 16 months)
I choose Save - and this is where it just vanishes into thin air - I can actually see it just go Poof, and it's gone - a mystery

Try it this way, Sea.

Don't click on "Custom".

Choose option 2, "open image from your computer", click on browse and put the name of the pic that you want in that box.

Example: mypic.jpg

Then click on "save changes".

Okay I did, and nope didn't work. I can sit here and literally watch it disappear when I hit Save.

Jerry I mis-read your post. That's the way I have been doing it all along. It's always worked, but it isn't any longer.

Thank you for placing the pic angus. Please let me know if my option can be fixed so I can change my avitar, myself, at some point in time. No hurry dearheart, just whenever you get a chance - I'm a pretty patient person.

I don't think your option is broken. I responded to your email with a few tips that might help.

Try it my way:

Click on Settings
Click on Edit Avatar
Do not click Custom-> Go straight to option 2 : Upload pictures from your computer and click Browse
when your picture library opens-
Left click on the picture to highlight it
Right click Select
Right click on Save Changes

That's just another way of doing it--maybe it will work for you...

Situation resolved - my Firefox was corrupt - same w/my IE. Now I have to uninstall IE too, then reinstall. Thanks Angus and Katy for your help.
