I've been vaping for two days, and since last night I can't taste anything. Not the juice, not food, not even my toothpaste, which usually seems pretty intense to me. It's like my taste buds died and left a weird, yucky, muted metallic taste instead (although I can kinda still taste my diet pepsi). I've been vaping the marlboro high pre-filled (pg) and bottled menthol 18mg (both vg and pg). I keep brushing my tongue and teeth, but nothing is helping. Is this common? Will my sense of taste come back? Even pickles and mustard have no flavor at all. It's scary. Thanks!

Don't fret, it is a common, but very unnerving, occurrence. Your taste buds are rebelling against constant years of abuse. The first time it happened to me I freaked out, but have since learned that it is really only a temporary thing. Drink tons of water, and in a day or two you should have re-awakened taste buds. Eventually you'll start tasting things differently, as I've learned the hard way, juice that you love this week may just be nasty to you in a month. Every time I buy a BIG bottle of juice I love, a week or so later it just isn't the same. Been vaping since August and my tastes are still evolving.

That's one of the best things about this forum, you think OMG what is happening, but lo and behold, you aren't alone. :)

This happened to me and I freaked out a little too. I just wasn't tasting anything! I got other people to try my pv, even people that didn't vape (they humored me) and kept asking them if they tasted anything. Yes, they all did. It was really odd. I even got out my cinna-bomb which knocks me out of the chair. I could taste that! It lasted about a day.

It is very unnerving. I guess it's not the worst thing that could happen. It's made me lose my appetite, and I sure could lose some weight (maybe quitting analogs won't cause a weight gain for me). I'm so glad it's "normal." It really freaked me out! I'm glad you all are here. I don't think I could do this without all of you! Thank you!

That's funny. I did that, too before I posted. I thought that maybe something was wrong with my PV, so I had my mom try my 510 with the menthol. She said the taste stayed with her for a while. That's what made me post, because since she could taste it as a heavy smoker, I thought "uh oh, something's really wrong!" Thank you!

Stop using 100% PG juices - buy some US juices

18mg nic in 100% PG would make my tongue sore and feel like after drinking some much too hot cocoa - sort of numb and sore

Get some juice with at least 30% VG and your problem should go away. Meanwhile you could get an empty dropper bottle from a pharmacy and try mixing 1/3 VG juice with 2/3 PG juice. that should help your tongue get better.

meanwhile, most of the "taste" of vapor is the aroma.
