I know that yall are probably sick of answering questions about this gosh darn Subtank's.

So ive tried ticker wicks, ive tried looser wicks, ive tried raising the coil to give it more air flow, i pre-moisten the wick, i condition the coil

Im out of tricks. My only other guess is that i cant vape VG heavy liquids in my rba. That it cant wick fast enough?

Im still using the prebuilt coils that came with the tank (.5 ohms), running between 27-30 watts, about 4.1 volts

I finally got the RBA to taste good if i take 1-2 second hits, but if i do much more than that.... BURNT

IDK WHAT TO DO! Any tips? Any Tricks? Is this common? :2c: any one?

(The OCC prebuilt coil is BOMB, i can vape that for as long as i want, all day, never a burnt taste)

vape all day at 25-30w/.5ohm with no dry hits
build like a Kayfun, trim the tails a little shorter than you normally would, once the tails are stuffed in the barrel gently clear the wick from the juice inlet

YMMV, I'm sure some people are having issues even under perfect conditions, but mine vapes great so I am commenting on how it's set up, hope it helps

oh and I use rayon

What is the ID of your coil? I struggled for a LONG time with my kayfuns until I increased the diameter from 1/16" to 1/8". I have been using the organic cotton pads, and I haven't had a dry hit since. I think my smaller coils just couldn't keep up (and I was only building 1.8ohm coils with 30g.) Now, I'm 1.2-1.4 with 28g, bigger diameter, and much happier. Just need a 3/32" bit to try for variety :)

Used to be people knew how to adapt.

If you use heavy e-liquids and have no intention of changing - Open the channeling a bit. Pick up a Spare RBA section to experiment with.

Used to be everyone was a farmer too, but not everyone has a garden shed and drill press. :) I'm not calling you out, and I'll be off your lawn shortly -- but we were all newbs once, and if you never feel like one you aren't trying enough things.

It's new to the guy, and an RTA is a big jump from screwing in coils. He did what most would suggest -- mess with the wicking -- and just spaced on the fact that he should lower his wattage first. I'm sure we've both done worse.

Most will ignore the RTA, and a good chunk of those who fiddle with it because they have it will go back to coils, but I think it's awesome if more people get over their initial fear-hurdle with rebuilding. Even if they choose not to pursue it I wouldn't to make it seem like you should only be rebuilding if you own a drill press.
