If I had to guess, I'd say either too little wick in the coil (causes burning), too long of tails/too much wick on the deck restricting airflow, or coil not positioned well with respect to the airhole.

Here's my dual 28ga build. Notice how close the coils are to the edge of the deck. You can't tell from the top view, but you want the coil to be raised slightly above the airhole as well, with air coming from under (at least the middle of) the coil. Not too high, or you might melt the plastic in the cap (ask me how I know ;))

Readeuler, how many ohms is that build? Your coils look awesome! I didn't know you could have long legs like that, gives me some ideas and options for my next build :)
After using it for a few minutes, it got a lot better, it's definitely vapeable now, not perfect but pretty good. Please don't laugh, but here's a pic of my single coil build. I wasn't sure if the wick should go on the side without a coil too or not, but it is working pretty decent so far. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418579892.698047.jpg

I am limiting it to > 1 ohm because I am using an istick and it will not fire anything less than 1 ohm. Thanks for the link, I have used steam-engine but I will check this one out too.

Plus you're using a box mod, which I always forget can do more than 4.2V, so everything I said doesn't apply. :)

Hey man, looks good! That picture was basically your build, but dual. I believe it was around 0.7ohms or so, 28ga. I think I purged my phone of my earliest builds, as they were not pretty! Long legs aren't ideal, but I don't mind living with them if it means I can get as close to the airhole as possible. I might trim a bit of wick there, but as long as you're getting the airflow and don't need to redrip after every other hit, it shouldn't be too much

Fresh builds usually take a bit of time to mellow out, in my experience (especially if you're using rayon, I don't recall if you are). If it works, keep it for a bit! You'll be rebuilding plenty at first, just to try different things out.

I use an artistic coil gizmo for all of my builds now (including the one in the pic), and here's a southern gentleman Super X's video I used as a tutorial and motivation. It's a bit lengthy, but a really useful video, if you're interested in a jig.

And here's a recent video showing how to set-up the gizmo to make using it as easy as possible.

That video is amazing....I had a job awhile back in a spring factory and one of the jobs I had was making prototype springs by hand. Very similar jig! I figure if I could do that job I can wind a decent coil, but I don't have the tools like that. I'm going to have to see what I can build so I can make nice even coils every time. Oh and I am using Japanese cotton for wicking, haven't had any issues with that so far, holds the juice forever it seems. I don't have to drip very often at all.
