I knew this would be cheaper, but I finally sat down and did the math.

I was rolling my own (with an occasional purchase of marlboro). Had purchased 50lbs of tabacco from roll your own.com before Obama struck with the tax (had 15lbs left when I got my KR 808). A $17 bag was increased to $53 after Obama. Ouch

I was at about $50 a month before the increase. Would have been about $150 after the increase. Smoking marlboro all the time would have been about $375 a month. I have spent $493 on my Egear, but if everything holds up and keeps working I have about a 1 1/2 years of vaporing supplies. Which puts it at less then $30 a month. I'm basing this on the 300 cycles they claim for battery life, but now that I'm getting a Pass-thru batteries should go awhile.

This plus health benefits. Win Win

I've spent a total of $83- and plan to spend another 50 this week (total of $133). I'll have enough liquid to last 3 months, and who knows how long a total of 3 attys, and 4 batteries will last. I've also made up a box mod, so can use AA batts. (so even in crisis or power outage, I can still have a functional battery). But I was spending a hair over $200/mo on analogs. So there ya go. I'm sure my hardware will last more than 2 weeks, so it's 50% savings for me, at a minimum.

i cant even imagine 50lbs of tobacco. how many cartons would that be?

around 80 or so. It came out to about $1.50 a pack so it wasn't bad cost wise. I was actually kicking myself for not buying more until I found out about Ecig's. Now I'm glad that's all I got. Ecig's are so much better.

I wish I could build a battery mod,but Im not tech.I would need REALLY simple instructions.Lots of pics too.

No problem,

Go to the Modder's forum, select Battery Mods, look for the sticky
"Build a Nicostick" or something to that effect, then just bust a move...

Made two yesterday plus a USB pass through, only mine is not a pssthrough but a direct 5v. with a manual switch...

It's whole new world once you just...

Bust a move
Go for it, it's so simple

Good Luck

that's exactly what I did- found the nico stick thread. Don't have any high enough powered batteries, so I ended up using a 4 battery holder instead so i could use standard nimh batts. And I'm soooo glad that I did! Massive rainstorms here the last few days. Power went out this morning around 4am, and didn't come back until 1:30pm. I'm soooo glad I had that extra power to hold me over!!

Angus, that's what I'm doing too- spending what I would have on analogs. I've just saved up that last 50 I spent (low cash here- not enough to fund a large start up cost). Next paycheck I'll get some more attys and a couple new batteries, and probably build another mod. Then I think I'll be good for a long while.

Just dropped another $45 on 510 parts, which brings my total up to $355 spent so far. I've got a few months worth of e-juice in the fridge, so it's time to stock up on batts and attys. Although I may buy a bit more juice next month.

I think it's going to be a while until I've actually saved money buy dropping cigs for PVs. :D

I will "break even" after the first month, and then pocket about $100 a month, if I keep vaping at the same rate, but I dont think I will. It's so nice just to take a puff and set it down.........no presure to finish that burning stick of crap!

AMEN to that! Exactly. You can do it at your own pace and leisure. Its the perfect solution :)
