Ok, so I was cleaning out my attys and carts today (first time) and I made sure the attys were dry and that whole bit. I put it back together, few drops in the cart and two drops on the atty (same as when I first opened it up) and it doesn't work. I can taste the juice but the drags are a lot harder and I'm not getting any vapor at all. I'm sure it's some dumb noob mistake, I just don't know which one, lol.

It's a joye 510, I'm using filler from one of the prefilled carts that I rinsed out and dried off, which worked earlier today.

side note: I also tried to use some poly that I got at wally world but I think I stuffed way to much into the cart. But I made sure there weren't any fibers left on the atty.

hmmmmm...I'm a bit concerned about this one part of your post. Under the bridge of the atty there are these fibers sticking out that are what causes the atty to wick properly with your juice. Did you, perhaps, yank these fibers out from under the bridge of the atty? That might be a problem.

The glowing part (nichrome coil) is under the bridge. The thing that is kinda' like a rounded 'teepee' protrusion covered in a metal (nickle) mesh is the bridge. On a 510 atomizer there is often some visible fibers under the bridge but on top of the coil. These fibers conduct fluids towards the coil. These are the fibers that Rosa was refering to. The mesh on the bridge is like a juice sponge and a wick since it is the part that contacts the material (what ever that maybe) that conducts the juice out of the cartridge. Hope this helps. We all were noobs at one time.

If you DID pull them out - well you can still drip with the PV but you can't use carts any more cos they won't wick - at leat they wont wick WELL (but dripping is stll a very viable option) - see the dripping guid in the ECF Library in case you did pull out the fibers (you arent alone lots of new members do this)
Also - IF you are going to clean your attys (and fwiw I dont clean mine at all) you should let it dry for at least a few hours - 24 or 48 or use a hair dryer to dry it off faster before re-priming it with ejuice.

I would suggest to you to not try and clean your attys at all.. maybe blow them out of excess juice once in awhile,, get yourself or put on a new atty. carts you can restuff with filler, just not too much poly.

your attys will last longer, imo, if you dont do anything to them. when you see a drop off of vapor or they dont work anymore just toss them.

hope everything works out for you!

ok, I just put my atty/cart on my other batt and it vapes just fine. The drag is still really hard like the airflow is blocked, but I think I can mess around with the ptb and fix that. Is it logical that the battery would have been the issue? And assuming it is, would be be because it wasn't charged all the way or is it more likely that it's bad? I'm charging it now, but I obviously won't be able to test that theory till it reads fully charged

Well anytime I have ever cleaned them they are never the same but worse,, lol
I have tried everything, Just recently used efferdent and they were clean but none of them would vape again..lol

They don't cost that much to replace. I just hope they will last as long as they will and chalk it up to the expense to vape..

The ones I have had the longest have never been cleaned so I guess finally I have seen the light.. Lol

I've heard this before, actually. I've been vaping for almost a month and still using the same atty I started on. I have three more that I haven't even touched yet! My plan is that if one of them dies I'll try to resurrect it (and order more), but until then I'm just vapin'.

well the good news is I got one of the attys vaping again (yay!). I do have a question about the air flow though. It feels kind of like it's blocked off, if I pull the ptb up some it helps for a couple puffs, but then it's back to being really hard to hit again even though I still get a good bit of vapor. The teabag I used isn't a lipton brand, it's some weird off brand that I had in the house (I don't drink tea), did I roll it to tight/loose?

but is it the non-paper kind? the PTB is special because it's made out of some nylon-feeling type of material. not paper. That's what you have, right?

No, sure isn't. And with it said like that I think I'll stop vaping for the night, throw that fill away and go shopping tomorrow.....if I didn't feel like a noob before I sure do now, I hate learning curves :(

Well, at least we narrowed down the problem, right? (hopefully:oops:) I put this stuff in my carts and it's working pretty good for me. It's pretty inexpensive at any pet store that sells aquarium stuff and you just cut it to size. Good Luck!
