I've been craving an analog for hours and I finally broke down and had one. I was trying to avoid it, but I've been satisfying the craving by grazing on food, and after spending the last year working my .... off (literally) to lose 65 lbs. and get back into the same size pants I wore almost 30 years ago, there's no way I was going to mess that up over one stinking cigarette. At this time of year, the house is filled with all the wrong kinds of food, and I've been eating chocolate peanut brittle, chocolate covered cherries, cookies....

On the one hand, this is the third cigarette I've had since last Wednesday night, and two of those were when my batteries freaked out over the weekend. I didn't actually want them, but my e-cig was dead and I had no choice. This is the first one I've had by choice, and it's been over 48 hours since my last analog. That's a huge stride by any measure. On the other hand, I've now got that nasty taste in my mouth and my chest feels heavy, and I'd rather just be quit of them.

I guess I have to subtract three analogs from my signature. But I still passed up 112 of them.

your doing just fine! Don't beat yourself up over a few analogs, just get your .... back ON the wagon as soon as your pv is back in business and keep pluggin along! :) It's when you just give up completely that the stink-sticks have won their battle...and you KNOW you don't want that to happen DO YOU???????? *just a stern bit of moral support here* Good luck :)

The fact that of the matter is, smoking is some thing that we have done for a long time. The road to recovery is a long one, weather be from this or that. At least with the guilt of having a cig you realise what you are trying to really do.
this is a good thing imo. i was once told, if vaping seems new, strange and odd, let alone different thats because IT IS!
so dont worry too much and keep up the good work.

The taste left in your mouth and the smell lingering in your hair is enough of a slap.
You're doing good and life happens. This is the time of year when you can catch a few sales. Get some back ups for times like these. You are doing an awesome job of being cigarette free. Vape On.

That's exactly what has me so excited about pv's. If I still have a cig now and then, it's just not that big of a deal. It's just part of transferring to a new habit. More and more I find the cigarette to be unpleasant and go right back to vaping. Two years from now if I've gotten off nic completely and then have a smoke, just load up a new cart and vape away. No harm, no foul.

Thanks, everyone. I guess I'll look at it as one of my last analogs, instead of getting myself all worked up about it. The e-cig has been great all along, and it's satisfied the craving completely until this afternoon and evening. After my fourth trip to the kitchen for inappropriate food, I just decided enough was enough.

And yes, it was pretty nasty, but it stopped the craving completely.

Focus on the 112 you didn't have :) Personally I was vaping for several months before I actually stopped smoking. I didn't start vaping as a quit smoking attempt - it was more out of curiosity over a new gadget. Over time I found that I could replace more and more of them with vapes and in the end did not need to smoke at all. It also gave me a chance to try out different devices, different juices etc. without feeling pressured to find something that worked, and without feeling guilty if I did smoke.

That's about how it happened to me too!!! I didn't go into vaping to quit analogs, just didn't want to freeze my .... off on the porch every time I wanted a cigarette. I picked up an e-cig after trying a couple hits off of one that a friend had, so I could "smoke in the house" when it was bitter cold outside. First day into it, I noticed that I had zero desire for an analog (too excited about vaping I guess, lol). Second day...felt the "urge" for the cig a little. I went out on the porch (freezing my .... of course) and it was so rank tasting and the smell was gagging me, so I snubbed it out. Went back to vaping...but vaped longer than usual. The urges for a cigarette eventually became a passing thought and no longer a craving (after bumping up my nic level from 18 to 24mg and adding about $100 worth of different flavors to keep me occupied, lol).

Scott,

Buy or make a bottle for just those occasions. I call mine my " 911" juice for emergencies. It's a higher milligram thatn I normally vape and I only use it when the panic is filling my chest and I'm gonna grab one of my husband's cigs. That juice cures it and I haven't cheated . Make it a flavor you don't normally vape too- the new flavor and higher strength seems to give me comfort when I most need it. And always have your "911" juice with you but only use it when you're ready to explode.

2 things got me off analogs for good.

1) I'm stealing this quote from somebody that helped me. But it worked. "Vape all you want, smoke when you have to. And some day you're going to realize that you haven't smoked!"

2) Related to the 911 ejuice somebody mentioned above. David at freesdomesmokeusa told me to get Pall Mall 36mg for whenever I felt like an analog. It works!!!!!

Ok. One more. When you do "slip" and have on. Notice that it doesn't taste/feel as good as what you vape if you have the right flavor/strength/vg-pg mix ejuice. And if that's not the case, then keep searching for the right juice! You're doing a lot better then I did! I have 30-40 bottles of juice and it took me a month or two before I was analog free.

Bottom line, no stress!!! Just let it happen.

Good luck! You will win!

It's been said before, but... just remember, this isn't like AA where you have to turn in your chip and start over :) Every 3 drops of juice you vape is an analog avoided (at least for me), and it's all positive. Just don't give up, and try not to pressure yourself. An awful lot of us, myself included, really had no intention of quitting at first... it just kinda happened accidentally. You wake up one morning and realize you haven't had an analog (or even thought about having one) for a few days.
