For years and years I tried this that and the other thing to quit smoking and nothing worked. The gum, the patches, inhalers, nothing worked for me at all. I heard about ecigs from a few people and kind of brushed them off as if they were just nic inhalers, until I started researching more on the ECF that is.

The help and sense of community here has been overwhelmingly excellent! I've been vaping now and analog free for about a month (not long) and I went out and bought starter kits for my whole family or are now vaping happily too. Most of the kits I got were "meh" like Blu, and NJoy. But after reading up on Kristin's FAQ and DonDaBoomVape's Wonderful World of vaping (sorry, I can't post links yet) and all the polls on the ECF, I decided to go for the Joye 510...I want those powerful TH's :) That's supposed to come this week and I can't wait!

Thank you Kristin and DonDaBoomVape, btw for your excellent pieces, they were a major help for myself and many other vape noobs. Also, thank you for the many others for your information and inspiration on moving to the world of all things vape and finally being able to free myself from the analog shackles.

That's exactly how I feel, like vaping is the key for all smokers to drop the shackles, continue the basic habit that we like only without killing ourselves, being outcasts, paying ridiculous taxes, and so on. I've since made it my mission to tell every smoker I know about vaping, as many of us haven't even heard of it yet. Since smoking my last analog, I haven't even had a second thought in over a month, and that's the first time in a decade that I was able to walk away from them.

My mom's been smoking for over 40 yrs and has COPD. I've read others here on the forum who are in the same boat and have nothing but excellent news with vaping since they quit. She's really excited about it too, and feels free of her shackles. So I'm hoping the best for her and the rest of my family, and all smokers everywhere.

Rambling over. Happy vaping!

Congratulations Vapist! I quit smoking using my 510. I smoked for 18 years, a pack a day. Although I've only been completely analog free for 16 days now (I weened myself off), I don't have any desire to go back. In fact, when other people around me smoke, the smell alone almost makes me gag. I don't know if you bought the 510 mega batteries, but they are well worth their price ... one battery lasts me about 7 hours on a single charge.

Great personal account and I know exactly how you feel. Smoked heavy for more than 40 years...and then found e-cigs and the forums. Kristin and DonDaBoomVape, and many others, have helped many make the transition a little easier.
Without a doubt this is the most informational and friendly group on any forum I've experienced. We all share a common enemy and can't wait to lead others into the (LED) light.
Welcome. You'll be advising noobs in no time.

Love to hear everyone personal story. I smoked for 40 years and have been vaping for 9 months. If I can quit smoking using as ecig anybody can. I enjoy vaping better than smoking. Good luck and hope your mon's health will improve. I also have COPD and was having trouble before I started vaping. I hope her health improves as much as mine did.

great news im just enjoying a coffee and a vape!that is something ive enjoyed my whole life and my joye 510 is giving me that back after quiiting dec 2 09.im dripping and whipping up coffee, yahoo!!!!!

I'm with you on this. I honestly feel like I'd rather die than to live without my morning coffee and nicotine. It sounds sad, and it is - but it's true. I have quit before, once for a year, and that yearning for caffeine and nicotine together NEVER went away. I don't think it ever will.

Thanks poogiecat! I feel totally the same, when I'm around analogs now they just can't compete with vaping, my thinking changed entirely. I'm definitely going to get the mega batteries next!

It's like a whole new world:D You'll love your 510 and then maybe later mods:D

Thanks RIMP! That's exactly how I feel, like what was I smoking for when I could vape instead :) I cannot wait for the 510 to arrive, it's won in the polls everytime I see someone match it against another ecig.

Thanks cliff! That's how I feel exactly. I liked smoking but I know it's killing me. This forum is awesome because I think most smokers feel the same. We all enjoy the act of smoking but now that vaping came along, most of us wouldn't think of returning to analogs. And everyone here is more than willing to help out their neighbor, it's like society pushed out smokers for years, and look what great people they've become!

Thanks martha! I was such an analog fiend, thats what I felt too. If vaping works for me, it'll work for anyone :) I especially love the stories I hear of 25, 30, 40+ yr smokers who have dropped analogs for vapes. It gives me major hope for mom! I hope you're one of the success stories I've read about where the COPD disappears entirely!

Thanks beast! This is my favorite too, coffee (the real stuff) and coffee flavored vapes...you can't beat that! I can't picture myself going back to analogs after mixing the two. And I can't wait for the 510 to arrive

Its a great feeling isnt it? Welcome to the world of vaping guys!
Thanks kodykills! It is truly the best I've felt in a long time, just between quitting analogs without suffering any withdrawl to speak of, and finding the ECF community and getting into this new habit and all the goodies that come with it. It's truly amazing!

Thank you all again! I'm very glad to be a part of the ECF and continue on a quest to free smokers of their shackles :) once they try some of this coffee juice!

I'm with you on this. I honestly feel like I'd rather die than to live without my morning coffee and nicotine.
Same here, and mixing the two is just a whole different world I didnt know could exist. Vaping coffee all day long is too good - ha!

I've been vaping for a couple days now and the constant cough has subsided substantially.
I have about a month and the cough is more or less gone, I can smell things around the house I never did before, food tastes better. It's great!

Sometimes there is a shimmer of gold, I have been lucky to find vaping and its great to hear other great stories. Lets just cross our fingers that the FDA sees these stories as well.
This one is something I'm totally willing to fight for. The FDA, the Bloombergs out there, the anti smoker extremists have nothing on vaping. They'll definitely try because it reminds them of smoking, and they're attitudes since quitting were "if I can't do it, no one else can".

There is no way I'll allow the FDA or anyone else to take vaping away  not after experiencing it myself and seeing what its doing for smokers all over the place. It's all about taxes and control for the powers that be, but they better find the next group of people to pick on, because smokers were given the keys to their shackles and we're free :) I would seriously go and build my own, or go underground, or something if they try to squeeze ecigs. I would definitely march, protest, anything.

The problem was, smoking was really indefensible, so they stuck it to us. It's like, your habit is bad, so give us 400% taxes and we'll mock you, throw you outside in the cold, etc. It'll be a fight with some people (Bloombergs, the FDA), but I think vaping is completely defensible and that will empower all of us to start kicking .... and taking names later if they try to take our vapes lol
