Don't beat yourself up. Treat the experience as a quit smoking experiment and move on. You learned that they screwed you over and probably tasted like crap too. Wanna try that again? Chances are if it comes up again you will less inclined to want to repeat the experience. For many, many of us having a cigarette turns into it's own worst negative reinforcement. You will sort it out as long as you have a real desire to quit.

Best wishes

Yeah.... just trying to find a way to hold myself accountable, because I'd otherwise just try to justify it to myself.
Just keep in mind how crappy you feel. How gross cigarettes make you feel, hold onto that. Then ask yourself, do I really want to spend money to feel like this? Hope things calm down soon for you. Stress is a hard trigger to overcome.

Maybe you need to invest in more vape flavours...that will get you testing and trying and that means you'll be vaping to do so.

Also, perhaps change up on nic levels when you're under stress...perhaps a higher nic will deal better with the stress.

Whatever you do decide to do, do not beat yourself up while you fell off the wagon. Never kick a good person when they're down...especially when it's yourself.

Dust yourself off and vape on.

Don't count the ones you smoke - count the ones you don't smoke. Good luck. :)

Yep, I've seen this before on the thread but it is exceptionally good advice!

I've fallen off the wagon a few times but I've always found it easier to get back on. In my most recent slip up, I don't actually know how many I smoked (naughty Rachy!) but I've effectively restarted the counter on my phone so I know how long its been (28 days!). I don't let it worry me though.

Finding your triggers is really important... I found cigs acted as a comfort blanket so when the world felt like it was falling apart, I went straight to the thing that would soothe me. It just made me feel worse. It also felt like a return to being a teenager and it felt naughty to have the occasional cheeky cig. I'm dealing with these triggers now and know to just up my nic when I need it and I've banned myself from the cheeky ones- they're just not worth it.

Don't beat yourself up though. Treat this as a learning experience and move on.x
