I finally bought one! Quick questions from initial usage :)

Hi! Thanks to this amazing forum I finally bought an ecig - 510 with boge LR cartos. Super happy so far.

I do have questions though:
- Why does it make a 'click click click bzzz' kinda noise when you pull? Is it normal? Seems to work properly otherwise.

- My liquid is 12 mg/ml. I usually smoke rollies, sometimes heavily. For some reason this ecig is giving me a big nicotine buzz. Is that normal? I want to reproduce the smoking experience as closely as possible, would it be possible to buy lower concentration juice so I can puff away like I do on a real ciggie?

are you talking about like a popping noise when you fire it coming from the carto? if so yes it is normal it is the coils heating the juice in it causing it to make the noise.. I find the LR cartos do it more than the std res do...

as for the nic buzz yes it is normal until you either get use to it or don't use it as often.. I still get it at times if I vape a juice higher than 12mg

You can typically get juice in 6mg or 0mg varieties as well. Are you chain vaping? If youre used to smoking roll your owns then 12mg shouldnt be all that strong to you.

Is it an ego 510 or mini 510 you have bought? Whichever, it shouldn't make a click click buzz noise when you pull on it. A crackling noise yes - as that is the e-liquid heating up in the cartomiser.

If you were a heavy rollie smoker, then 12mg shouldn't be too strong for you, however, you can buy e-liquid from most good UK vendors in lower strengths.

I am also new to vaping and got the e510 kit. I am also noticing the same sounds.
I noticed leaks from the ecig (the place where tank and atmoizer join). Are leaks normal or did I get a defective unit? I got 2 units and the other one never leaks.

the leak could be caused from over filling.. most don't leak unless they are over filled.. the noises how ever I think are pretty normal..

Re: The strength, are you meant to smoke these like you smoke regular ciggies/rollies, i mean it takes me 2 minutes to go through a malboro light? Or shorter periods of time?

Sham, most folks tend to vape for longer than they smoke a real ciggie as we absorb the nicotine from vaping in a different way.

Can you give us a link to which type of 510 you bought?

2 minutes?? damn talk about hot boxing one. Ive found that I vape more frequently but not for as long as I did when I was smoking.

I take a few 7-10 second pulls and then Im good for for a little while. When I smoked I went outside maybe 3-4 times an hour, Im vaping much more often than that just not nearly as long.

yup noise is normal.. well I can't say you vape it like an actual smoke because if I vaped like I smoked when I started out I would have had a major nic headache in fact I did because I tried to vape like I smoked but found out it took a lot less vaping to give me the same effect.. since I've been vaping for over 2 years now though I can say I'm a chain vaper so I vape more than some but I still have times where I have to put it down or get the nic headache.. I also can't vape anything over 12mg nic or it kills me.. so I don't think there is a time limit it's more pick it up when you want a hit but don't try to kill off a full carto at once..

OK, so it is what we call a mini 510 & it comes with Boge SR cartomisers. In your opening post you said you were using Boge LR (Lower resistance) cartomisers with it. If you are using LR's it's not a good idea to use them with such a small battery that is only 190 mAh.

Im new too, but Welcome!

The buzzing or clicking you are hearing is the water content of your liquid evaporating or 'sizzling' in contact with heat. I find this happens with some liquids more then others, and usually in dual coil atomisers that use the spongy foam around the wire instead of string wicks. Its not a bad thing, although I prefer silent set-ups for when Im in meetings at work (so it doesnt disturb the people sitting next to me).

I wouldnt expect you to get that much of a buzz off 12mg... I smoked 20-30 a day before i switched and I am also on about 12mg ish of nicotine... I feel like i get less at the moment so I vape quite heavily - around 3-400 puffs a day which is about 30-40 cigarettes or so... Im not bumping my dosage up because I enjoy the experience... but if you feel like you want to go lower, it might be tricky to find vendors that sell lower strengths.

I plan to start mixing mine myself: so buy one 12mg flavour, and one 0mg of the same flavour... to get 8mg, mix at the ratio:75/25 with/without nicotine... you can increase the amount of 0mg flavour to decrease the overall content. Good luck!
