i have dropped my provari many times. i have the 1st version, and ive dropped it a dozen times easy,..some scuffs on it but it never failed to function.
just dropped my mini today,...hit the asphalt,..glass on display shattered,..my new screwtank broke apart, and just happened to spill the juice inside my device,..where the glass had broken.
result = dead. IMAG0085.jpg wont fire up at all, display wont react to any combination of button presses.

just ordered a new one,..i suppose i might be able to repair this one but...i was just so bent i ordered new one right away.
$213 bucks, sigh.

Dang! Lucky you didn't get hit with a thunderbolt at the same time.

I'd love to get my hands on a broken one, so I can mount a DNA module inside it... Just sayin...
Hrm, that is not a bad idea. Kind of curious where I would put the pot though. I guess you could put a screw pot inside and just adjust it with a long thin screw driver. Oh wait, the window. heh. you are giving me ideas for my old V1.

well it turns out the fine people at ProVape are able to repair it by replacing the circuit board and window for like $75. there is even hope the circuit board can be salvaged by cleaning it. in that case i can get window replaced for $10. ProVape just plain rocks.
my new one will arrive tomorrow since i live 5 minutes away from ProVape here in Washington. so ill send busted one in eventually for repair.

will be nice to have a backup 'mini :)

Precisely what I was thinking... situate the button on top of the heatsink of the DNA, and position so that the Provari button pushes it, have the POT on the opposite side, possibly modifying the window with something not clear... Of course you would have to mod something for the positive connection, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Judging by pics of the Provari circuit board, and knowing the dimensions of the DNA, it should be an easy enough fit... I mean, no screen, but by using a multimeter and an ohms law calculator, you could easily enough mark points around the POT to correspond to the different wattages, and then no screen needed.

I think they pretty much fix anything for a price they have pretty good customer service and quick turn around time, I'd try giving it a isopropyl alcohol bath and letting it dry out for a few days if you can get it to fire again they'll replace the window for 10 bucks

i have already given it a bath. Cecilia from ProVape sent me private message with that information, just cause she saw my post here. Pretty good customer service you say? Top notch i say.

I tried to send you a private message but it kept going to some Page not found error so I will just post it here.
I was thinking further into this. You could essentially just un-solder the circuitry from the Provari chip and re-solder the positive connection to the DNA chip. Would make things a bit easier to just reuse the chip instead of making something new.
This would allow you a base to work with.
