Well, I was going to try and figure out the current state of the carto market. I've spent like, idk, and hour or more, just in this session, trying to sort through this sub-form.

The "just the facts" section is almost 2 months out of date. Most of the other posts just refer to "the long thread" and that has about 3400 posts in it that no carto-newb like me is even going to approach.

I realize it is a technical discussion thread, but ffs, ftloG, people. This is not "snails".

I swore I wouldn't use cartos after all those burnt filler pics. I've only used atties. Someone in another forum mentioned drip tips and E2 carto combinations, it made sense. But trying to sort it out... bah!

I must need nic; I've run out of patience. I'm not directing this at any of the great users or admins of this forum in particular. But I hope you guys sort this sub-form out somehow.

Maybe I'm just having a bad day, but this is not even approachable. I understand and contribute to most of the other main areas. This one, I'm out of. Good luck here in carto land. I'm going back to atty world until this crap gets organized. Admin, you can go ahead and close this rant. The group should know, however, no carto purchase for me next month either. I'll try again later. Please excuse the rant.

EDIT:
P.S. I'm willing to admit that it's the carto market, that is in an extreme state of flux now, that contributes to this... but maybe we can find a way to organize it? Holy crap on a cracker.... stickies, sub-sub forums, whatever. thanks.

Yes, I agree with you. I am an experienced carto user, both 808 and 510, and I am having a lot of trouble with the E2's, no idea what version. Is there any way someone could start a new thread for the TIPS AND TRICKS of using these things.

My filler rings are glued in.....I just received these 808 E2's from COV. I bent the filler thingy trying to fit it in the holes to fill it....with a total of only .5ml of liquid, the liquid came up thru the middle and down leaking out the battery hole. After about 3 vapes it tastes burnt. I am using it on an 808 wetbox and have to squeeze every 2 vapes or it tastes terrible. After vaping a while, the coil is black. What should I do now? I don't taste any glue. It doesn't taste good to me unless there is gurgling when I draw.

Can someone maybe post a tutorial compiled from your experiences with these E2's?

What can I say? Like the girls say, "you gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince". I don't know much about 808 anythings. I've only used KR808's w/adapter to Riva/eGo batts. I thought they worked great. Got some C-E2 XL 510 cartos from CoV. Don't know Revision #, the latest he had at the time. They had removable inner ring, (not glued). I hypo'd 1.8 mL of 50/50 VG/PG into the thing. Replaced the inner ring, then the soft tip. Thing is vaping up a storm. No primer taste at all. These may have accidentally ended up being R4 version. Or maybe I just vape such strong cinnamon it overrides anything else. All I know is it goes for 6 hours before I chicken out and top it off with another 1.5 mL. Saw an earlier post awhile ago today, BB says he has R4's on order. I think he may have gotten something very close to them in his last batch and didn't notice them. Easy to do with the rolling revisions way they have of updating inventory. All I know is I love whatever I got from CoV last Saturday. Means I ordered it 3 days prior to that. I have no idea if this info is any help to anybody or not.

Cheers,
otrpu

I agree that there should be some sort of E2 FAQ/Q&A thread so folks don't have to try to sort through the huge tech thread. I followed the Big Thread pretty much from the beginning and had followed along well enough that I managed getting good use out of E2's shortly after getting my first batch. But the Big Thread has gotten too big, cumbersome and chatty for anyone seeking good info for the first time imo.

I agree about the tech thread. Way too looooonnnnggg.....in addition the search isn't working for me tonight either.

I just received my first order of the E2's. Don't know the revision, don't really care, just wanna good vape. I am sssooooooo glad I got these! I ordered 2 pack (luckily) since the special filling tip in one box didn't work! I have 3 filled now and can't believe the difference in the taste of my liquids! I have eGo cartos and love them too! I really like the consistance that the carto gives you for a more extended time then the atty/cart and having to top off all the time. Dripping on my hour long commute just isn't reasonable.

AttyPops-Don't give up on carto's. I would recommend giving them a try at least once.

I haven't braved the 'Big Thread' but, from my experience, here is the current state of E2s;

current version is v.4
all of them have seem to have issues with nasty taste.
some of the 510s have airflow issues.
the wicking issues seem to be solved.

solutions;
Use 808s instead of 510s to avoid problems with airflow (as airflow is a function of the battery with 808s)
Remove all of the caps and boil the body in distilled water, then flush with vodka (easier said than done, the filler cap is not glued in, it's just a pain in the backside to get out. Getting it back in, makes getting it out seem easy.)
Use an 18 gauge metal needle to fill (if you can get a hold of one) or, wet the hole with a drop of juice to lubricate it, even than it is a pain to get in.
or, wait until all the problems are worked out, my money is on v.37 working perfectly out of the box ;)

that being said, E2s are the best cartos available, if you can get 'em working right...

Edition2 carto's have finally matured into a properly working product. Now is the time to buy them.

No more leaking
Decent wicking performance
No more primer liquid
No more silicon/glue
KR808D-1 Threads are perfect (not sure about 510)

The only issue is refilling them. It can be tricky getting the inner cap back in if you refill straight from the juice bottle. One side of the inner cap always seems to stay above the cup due to the unstable inner tube. But on the second refill, things are more lubricated and shaped, and much easier (I use the rear of a Pen).
What they need is a tunnel/tube that lets you refill from just under the mouth cap, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
Using the Syringe technique isn't too bad, if you could be bothered using syringes in the first place.
