i read on a post somewhere on here that you can make you own VG liquid so i serched Wal-mart for Vegetable Glycerin ok well in the pharmacy section they showed me a bottle of 99.5% GLYCERIN and 0.5% Anhydrous witch says its a skin protectant. also in the bottle its made by HUMCO and says USP. now can i use that to mix wit my flavors for a VG liquid?? like is it safe to vape??? i dnt see why not since the FDA sayz were vaping antifreeze....but jus wonderin if its safe or will it hurt me or poision me......thankx

Yes.... glycerin is what you want, it must be called "Glycerin" not "Vegetable Glycerin" to be able to qualify as USP.

Glycerin is the VG - you mix it with flavors, and you have no-nicotine juice.

And the FDA is full of crap. Propylene Glycol is perfectly safe, its used in "Non-Toxic" antifreeze, among a variety of things we eat, inhale, etc. Same with VG.

?? I have a bottle that says vegetable glycerine 100% pure and food grade,It lists uses as a moisturizer and cleaner, as well as says it has a slightly sweet taste.

so whats that Anhydrous stuff that sayz its skin protectant???? its only 0.5 % but thats allright???

Anhydrous just means theres no water in it - and USP is the purest you can get, pharmaceutical grade, thats what anyone making anything with glycerine is using (in its best form - food grade is a lower requirement).

Glycerine itself is also a skin protectant, not to mention a good solvent, a sweetener, a thickening agent, a humectant - its good stuff. Very multi-purpose.

USP - 99.5% is the highest quality - are you sure it doesn't say "Kosher" hidden somewhere near that 100%? I've seen that before. Or USP (99.5% pure) 100% derived from pure vegetable oil?

What was that about it not being Vegetable Glycerin? I use USP "NOW" brand VG as well as the humco Glycerin. It can be either. VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin ferchrissakes.

To qualify to put USP on the bottle, it has to be labeled "Glycerine" not "Vegetable Glycerin", because thats what its listed as.
