Since starting ecigs my first purchases were for the DSE901 miniciggy but to be honest I wasn't getting what you guys got out of it (though at first I wasn't puffing it properly) Cartridges were dry so tried it with ejuice. Also as I read on here, there should have been engraved marking inside the batteries letting me know if the cigs I had were true 901's, well my markings were not like any posters said they should be, so I'm not sure what they really were.

Anyway, before I gave up I decided to try another type from a dealer recommended on here so I went for the pen. I checked it had all the markings that you guys have spoken about and it did... I charged the batteries that came with it and inserted the cartridge and WOW, for the first time I get what you guys are all about.

This really was so different and I didn't touch a real cigarette the whole day...

NOW FOR MY NEXT QUESTION:

I am so impressed that I've now sent for a USB passthrough thing but I need to know if I just plug it into my laptop usb port, and if so, do I have to change any settings on my computer?

If all goes well with this, my next purchase will be the mobile powerpack and that will be me a happy bunny...I think :D

Just waiting on the place I got my pen from to get their juice back in stock then I'm gonna try a few different flavours too.

Yes - just plug it in. No settings to change. I also have a mains usb plug which is handy. Best of all is my Battech battery - I mainly plug into that. Enjoy! :)

What's a "mains usb plug?" and "What is a Battech battery?"

Anyway, I can't wait till it comes and give it a try. Pity we in the uk couldn't get that deal for the APC mobile charger thing

If all goes to plan maybe I'll get one next month and then the month after that, I'll break even...hehehe

So glad you're getting all your own details/preferences worked out.. and are sticking with the e-cigs! :)

I was first introduced to e-cigs through (sad example) Smoking Everywhere at a local shopping mall. Even though I did shell out $150.00 for their (poor quality) e-cig... I did at least learn ABOUT e-cigs from them, and followed up with some research. After I learned that the Smoking Everywhere e-cig was a poor choice as a replacement for smoking on my part... I knew that the decision I made to (want to) quit smoking "tobacco cigs" was the best choice I'd made in a LONG time.. so after researching... I just decided to invest in another style of e-cig (a 901) and just get off to a better start! One of the first problems I had with the 901 was the frustration with batteries not working properly. When the 901 worked as it was suppose to work.. it was awesome... but when it didn't... it was very frustrating! Not wanting to go back to real cigs, I ordered extra batteries, atomizers... plus a 901 USB battery to use when I was at my computer.. and a battery pack to use with the USB battery with while at home... or out and about! I love having the option to use the long lasting battery pack... without worry that my battery needs a charging... or to use just the charged battery for shorter periods! :D

I started with a 901 too and the battery life hadn't been an issue since i had three. Now i'm down to one working battery 8-o. I have made my own usb battery from parts salvaged from the dead ones. It works but needs refining a little
I have been going back and forth between buying new batteries or getting a penstyle. After reading Pseudonym's experience i'm really leaning towards the penstyle now.
When i first started i had that thing of wanting it to look like an analog. Now i am thinking the opposite and have found some real cool looking penstyles. What i may do is use the 901 on the usb and a pen when i'm out and about or on the couch.

I have been e-smoking about a week and a half and have tried the pen, the mini and the pee wee. I agree...the pen is mightier than the mini...and far superior to the pee wee. The only problem I am running into is that pure smoker seems to be out of any cartridges for the pen with the exception of low and Menthol. I can actually buy Njoy refills at the local C-Store, but they are 4 times the price.

Hello again, do you mean you use something like this
http://www.buyspares.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=1687087

I've looked up a few of these things but I'm afraid I order the wrong one and I can't see if this one has the required 1000 MA output.

Also do you mean something like this as your mains usb plug?

CONQUEST-COMPUTERS AC MAINS PLUG TO USB POWER CHARGER ADAPTER review cheap prices AC MAINS PLUG TO USB POWER CHARGER ADAPTER CONQUEST-COMPUTERS best buy discount online uk shop

sorry I'm such an idiot...I'm just afraid of getting the wrong thing.

Also, you can get a USB Power pack, like the APC one folks are mentioning around here. Just search ebay for APC Power Pack and you will find it, or here for same thing. That allows you to not have to plug these things into your computer, and can be somewhat mobile with them.

yeah thanks, I saw the APC on ebay (not the nice cheap price you guys in USA are getting) but I was put off ordering one of them for 2 reasons

1) I've never used ebay and don't know how...
2) I've read that the makers of the APC are discontinuing it.

I'll hang off and hope that some-one here in the uk can find another make which is just as good and will do the same job.
