After months of messing around with various models, flavors, liquid strengths and smoking styles I decided to stick with a few things to better acclimate myself to using ecigs exclusively and finally putting some distance between real cigs and myself.

I decided the 901 was right for me, I found some flavors that I liked, and I decided to go with 36mg liquids, and to use dripping.

No other strength liquids seem to even touch my nicotine cravings, but my main problem had been the fact that drip smoking made me violently ill. Horrible sore throats, headaches, backaches, and nausea. Typical symptoms of OD'ing on nicotine. Tried going to lower strengths and was right back to the problem of it not being satisfying and going straight back to death sticks. Hmmm...maybe it was time to give up.

One last try...I grabbed some old spent carts and topped them up with some 36mg liquid. Fully expecting the same hellish ride I had from previous attempts I braced myself....popped one in and let it rip.
No cough. No headache. No puking. Non of the aforementioned problems. Just smooth clouds of vapor. It's been several days now, and I can finally say I've had the experience other smokers have had; I tried a real cig and it was foul. Absolutely terrible. Ahh my first ecig victory.

I don't really understand how it could make such a huge difference but apparently it does for me. Dripping was awesome on the 11 and 16 mg liquids... Odd how such a little change in the delivery could have such a dramatic effect. Maybe its all in my head. I don't know. :p

Phil, that's great to hear and I'm sure it'll help give hope to fellow 'new starts' who feel they're not being successful in the e-smoking world. :)

I myself was beginning to feel a bit of a failure, I found e-cigs to work for the most part but there was still times when I need a real ciggie i.e. after meals, first thing in the morning etc. I've now stopped guilt tripping myself and having a [guilt free] ... during those times. I now know that I need a higher strength juice for those times of the day. :D

I'll be ordering a bottle of 24mg juice in the New Year - I think 36mg might be pushing it a bit, and hopefully this'll help cut out the emergency fags. 8-o

As you've proven, it's really just a case of trial and error until you find the routine that works for you. Ohh and the advice on this forum has helped loads.

I think some people may be unhappy to hear that you're enjoying e-smoking now, gone is your selling off items at a reduced rate... :p

Yeah Phildo! Great feeling, huh?

I have experienced some of the same issues as yourself, though not as severe I think. I do believe there is some real difference between using carts vs dripping besides the obvious huge hits you get from drips. Maybe has something to do with temperature or aerosol droplet size?

Anyway, I find that whether I drip or not really depends on the device. My 901's I never drip. My e-cigar I always drip.

Glad you worked it out though:thumb:
