I hate it that I’ve turned into such a pessimist

Bristow, Ok.
I smoked for over 40 years. I have a GG and I quit smoking entirely. I am not saying to go get a GG. It may not be for everyone. It just worked for me. It is expensive but so are cigarettes. My husband is still smoking. It is very hard to quit. I was smoking over 2 packs a day. Now I love esmoking. You just have to find what will work for you. I am now mixing my own juice and always have juice that I really like. I hope you figure out what will work for you.

I watched the videos, read the reviews, I did my research (almost 2 months)…..I have bought from highly recommended vendors on this site and paid the premium prices for those products. I was not prepared for the dismal quality. Rarely on this site do experienced users make it clear in big red letters, BUYER BEWARE, these products MAY or may not function properly and may not produce the desired results. I never expected to give up my smokes, only to cut down as much as possible.

The point was, this Forum (in general) does not prepare the new user for the substandard products we are going to buy. One vendor finally told me that these are Chinese products and quality control is questionable if any….. "it is what it is" quote.

Most posts just gush at how great that vendor was or how fast it shipped, oh and they replace that defective product (Thank You). Frankly if I order and pay for something and received it in a timely manner..what is so GREAT about that. Really?? What’s GREAT is the vendor got my money and I get a crap shoot. God forbid anyone actually complain about a vendor on here…eeek!

I consider over $800 in three months an expensive lesson. I have tried the 901 and the kr808. Gotta get plenty of those atty’s because they could go anytime, spend lots to make sure I got spares. And those batts may work (for an hour or so), be sure to spend more on those spares too. I don’t think I need to go into the cartridge issues, just go the cart mod section you get my drift..been there – done that. I try drippin the 901 (with my new and improved manual batter that the button keeps falling off of), but it leaks like a sieve and I’m not digging wiping juice off everything, lets add a little stress worrying my cat is gonna get into some of that!

I expected the 808 to be solve my problems, but those cartomizers are not as good after a refill, at most 3-5 (for me), opposed to the 10-20 refills many are saying they get. And my experience is washing them out just ruins the filler, none have produced the same vapor as when it was new.

Maybe my expectation was too high? I cant afford to keep throwing good money at a bad design. Now I just vape this crap to keep from picking up a smoke every 15 minutes. Success!!

Well it doesn't work for all people. I read what types you used and to be honest I think that maybe you issue, but that is just my opinion. For what it is worth this is just an alternative method to quit smoking. It works for some and not for all. I do wish you luck finding what works best for you if you do decide to quit - which I hope you do. :)

I agree your expectations may have been a bit too high. The cartomizers are supposed to be disposable after one use, but through refilling I get 3-5 uses like you're mentioning then just toss them. It's still way cheaper than smoking. For example, if I use 5-6 cartomizers per week (with refilling) that's $10 a week as opposed to $10 a day I spent on smoking. Plus maybe $10 a week on juice.

After the initial investment for the batteries and chargers from V4L I couldn't be happier with the results and amount of money I'm spending.

It is also possible that you went into this thinking that the e-cig would 100% replace the cigarette.
I share my story with anyone who asks about my PV but I do always try and be honest. In my opinion it does not 100% replace the cigarette in regards to satisfaction. With my first e-cig it was about 75%. The e-cig was not always reliable, filling the carts caused juice to go in my mouth. When it vaped well I was able to maintain, when it did not I got mad cravings for analogs.
With my mod I get 98% contentment but it still does not 100% replace the analog. It is relaible and it always produces vapor. I do not have to change my batteries every hour. Again in my opinion e-cigs give you enough to make quitting the analog possible and with all the flavors and mods out there the possiblity of enjoying vaping.

They do not 100% replace the cigarette. At least they have not for me. But by using them I can now smell, I can taste, Ican take my dogs on a long walk without huffing and puffing, I do not smell like a ashtray and I am proud of myself for at least being able to get the 600lb smoking monkey off my back. I have been carrying him for over 30 years.

Actually this does not hold true for me, what Ive got going is waaay better than analogs ever were for me. I use a stock 510 and sweedish snus. It is true I have frustrating times with the 510 but it works well most of the time the snus works consistantely all of the time between the two ive got a nic delivery sys that is waaay better than analogs.

I feel your frustration OP. I am not sure which models you have tried but from a 27 year 2 pack a day smoker, I feel myself blessed to have found ecigs.

When I came to this forum I had a BluCig on order and this forum probably saved me a lot of the frustration that you are feeling now. I read and researched and finally called a vendor up and ask what HE used and was introduced to the 510 manual. Had I initially tried the auto, would I have lasted? I think not from the number of times I have flooded my atty. I needed something that was newbies proof.

Is it frustrating? Yes! I cannot tell you how irritated I have gotten with the poor battery life on these things, or burning out attys (probably user error on that last one) but they are batteries, keep enough on hand and atomizers and you can vape all day long.

I am not sure if you are getting ecigs and thinking "This is it!" It takes some longer than others. Some gradually cut down on the numbr of analogs but remember the more analogs you smoke, the less true the taste of the juices. I was surprised with what I thought was tasteless and put in the back of the fridge, came to be my favorites once my tastebuds recovered a bit. When I started all I could vape was menthol and probably for the extra throat hit and flavor it gives.

I did run out of equipment once and went back to analogs for a period of time, however, I found myself MISSING the taste of vaping as it is not so harsh. And using my half dead equipment every chance I could between analogs.

As long as I have been vaping, I just got my first mod and can say with an adapter to fit my 510 atty, I am pretty satisfied. THe screwdriver still vapes at 3.7 volts but the longer battery life keeps me happy. If it is analogs you are missing, and you are not getting enough vapor, you could go for a 5-6 volt mod but I would like to reccommend the 510 first. They are relatively cheap and easy to use.

With all the success stories, it saddens me that you are really feeling this way. With my personal story, it is also hard for me to imagine anyone not being able to vape for life. However, to each his own and I wish you the best, even if you can't quit using the ecig, I wish you to quit someday if just for your own health.
