I hate the word "newbie"...but on this platform, that would be me.

...ok, since I started this thread, I am just gonna ask this question here.

bare with me I gotta explain this part first.
I convinced my better half to quit smoking with me. We dated in high school and just recently got back together after 30 years. (he came for dinner one night 7 months ago and hasn't gone home yet...it doesn't help we sold his place and moved everything here.lol!)...anyhow.
He is a fugal type of guy so spending the little bit we spent to get started was a bit of talking into but he quickly saw the savings and then I went on this little spending spree with the extra batteries, juices and kanger tanks - I have gotten four t3s and today just got a kanger protank2 mini, which I love. For me the inexpensive lava batteries work great due to the fact I am making my own battery case housing...But for him, on the road and needing a good charged system that is not going to die in a month or needs to be recharged every night is not cutting it, it is actually frustrating him.
I don't want to see him quit vaping and go back to analog.
I got to see the itaste mvp today, I like the style and I think that would be great for him, except I am loosing the argument on the price. Can I call on some here to help me validate the cost - pros and cons are welcome, or maybe even a different style e-cig box would be great.

(something that would work with the 510 thread, and maybe get atleast 1 or two days in charging for under 60 would be even better).

between here and there
I bought this from ebay for under $60.00 free delivery
Itaste MVP 2 0 ICLEAR30 ICLEAR16 Kit Newest Version from Innokin Free Shipping | eBay

The battery will last a long time because it is a 2600mah which means he can vape around 26 hours before re-charging. To me that's about 4 days. If he gets a car charger he can still vape on it while it charges. So almost no down time at all. And I expect it will last(time and usage wise) a very long time.
If he want something other than a box to hold, then look into vv/wv. Lots of smaller less expensive ones like the Innokin vv. Wont last as long but can still vape while charging.
:)

Congratulations! I'm in agreement on the "newbie" thing. Maybe the word "apprentice" should be used more often? You mentioned ten days into vaping and your sportin that baby? More like a Journeyman I would say:) I've got $850 into this in three months and after seeing this post, I'm done taking pictures of my stuff:blush:

Way to go vaping!:toast:

When you say he's on the road alot, do you mean driving? If so, the Itaste MVP is real nice for that as a pass through from a cigarette lighter the whole trip. Tell him to pretend he's spending the money for a carton of cigarettes and then it will seem like a really good deal. That's what is so funny to me is how we were all used to spending so much money on our smoking habit, but we tend to get real cheap when it comes to getting a satisfying Vape. Lol. Yes, both of you are going to spend a little at first to get comfy, but after the initial investment in decent mods, it's all win win after that. And wasting money on cheapo batteries that don't last long is pointless. The Itaste MVP is a nicely built mod.

You might want to check out fasttech for that itaste mvp you mentioned. I bought one, though it is vv only. About $40 bucks with free shipping.

Good luck
;) thanks. (I like the apprentice too) Have been looking there and the prices are good too. I personally don't mind snagging one from our local B&M place to support them as well - still working all the angels.

Totally agree with you....right now he is talking about building one as oppose to buying it outright. smh
(He is an IT admin for several companies so he travels all over our part of Michigan).

That is a bad ... setup. If you get a copper/wood steampunk one made please share some pics!!! I have only seen a few steampunk mods that I like and have thought about making one myself but time is limited so I'm stuck with looking at pics of them here and there....

Thanks! - in my album I have pictures of the ones I have done. Currently my heart setup and the newest little one that I woodburned some designs on are my favorite. I like the steampunk but it is a harder one to carry out so that is my indoor one (I am not sure it is entirely steampunk but was working with old recycled parts. ;)

Thanks everyone for all the input. I may be winning the argument with him, if I can get him to get the nice mod, fix the lathe and then he can build one for himself. :)

Oh wow those are awesome. I like all of them. Inspiration for me to get back into my garage:). I made a stand a few weeks ago but haven't messed with the batteries or anything. My girlfriend is a designer and very artsy so ill have to show her your stuff so she can get to work:). Hahaha. I'm the wood worker she's the tinkerer with old parts:)

Alright....
Sitting in the doctor's office waiting to find out if one of my boys broke his arm/wrist, and learning he indeed did, we all, the doctor included were enjoying a round of laughs. I asked my doctor what he thought of e-cigs and he said he was all for them in support. "anything to get you off of smoking all those chemicals!" Plus he is now even excited I am agreeing to letting him do some x-rays in about six months. (I have refused any x-rays for the last couple of years due to worries and he understands, plus I don't have insurance so I am picky about what gets done and not - medical beliefs/long story/don't ask).
I have been hanging out around the forum from the 10million post, to the national vape day and just the overall support, general q&a's I am reading. I gotta say...

you_rock.jpg

Just from the support and humor this forum offers. I am glad to be a part of it...
anyhow, carry on.
Happy National Vaping Day - hope your juice is well steeped and full of flavor! :2cool:

DBF (hubby/boyfriend) made the comment my desk in my office looked like a scene from what would be called "Vaping Bad". lol. Not even thirty days into this vaping - NO SMOKING business and I am hooked. ...I think I am doomed.

Many new editions to the stock pile from my boys as today we were celebrating the yearly reverse your age day...celebrating a joyful 74 years :p  (all metal tips replaced to plastic due to metal allergies/sensitivity)

It's a great hobby! I had to start using a two-door cabinet with shelves eventually, especially when I started DIY'ing juices. Got one just for my vape stuff so I can keep it all in the living room near my recliner, but out of sight. As soon as I open the doors, the aromas hit you and they smell great! It also helps me keep low voltage stuff separate from high voltage stuff, because atomizers/cartos/clearos sometimes aren't labeled easily and at times you just need to know what you are grabbing for without thinking alot. lol.
