ahhh yes - the United States poo poo service
"Do you want tracking?" My response is always "you don't offer tracking"
item is scanned when mailed - and SUPPOSED to be scanned at destination arrival.
Sure
Yeah right

Once upon a time -
my package was mailed with tracking - Dec 22.
By Jan 15 I was 'tracing it' and making phone calls.
Nothing - no idea - no clue.

On Feb 13 a pink slip appeared in my mailbox.
NICE lady at the post office was TICKED when I picked it up and said they were ready to send it back .... since it'd been there since Dec 24 and "I didn't bother to come get it".

Next best USPS service..... Delivery confirmation.

Answer me this...
I pay you to do something.
Then I pay you more - supposedly to make sure you do it and have proof that you did.

Does your boss pay YOU $10/hr and if you indeed show up for work and work then pay you extra because you did?

Tracking.... no, your package is not scanned at each point of its journey.
Delivery confirmation - dang - I paid you to do it so just do it!

Interesting that as email and private services eat away at their business the USPS seems to be assisting in putting themselves out of it.

2cents .... and I trust your goodies will arrive soon!

I'd rather he used USPS than UPS, yeah you can track UPS better and see every little stop but to get from the east coast would take a week if not longer. USPS, I get in 3 days tops. On occasion I've even recieved in 2 days

I just want to know when it ships, so I know its gonna be here NLT 3 days from then.

Exactly. Also, if it doesn't arrive in 3 days but they show it as having been delivered, then I know I have a problem. And where I live, the postal carrier will put it in a locked package box with the key to it locked inside my mailbox so I know I have a package in the other box. UPS will just leave it on the front porch for somebody to swipe. I much prefer he keeps using USPS.

Sometimes it updates every stop. Sometimes it never updates. I just wish it was consistent.

Hi,

I work for USPS. Remember something, our service is not "tracking", it's merely "delivery confirmation". The service is so the sender can verify you received it.

Typically not every item gets scanned at every stop along the way, although they frequently do. However, oftentimes those are internal scans not put on the general website, after all, the only thing the sender is paying for is to confirm delivery. And having all those scans on the web eats up bandwith etc. (hell, if you do the postage online, we dont even charge for this!!)

Also, the attempted scan should have been made and visible, my apologies to whoever in this thread said their package sat at the Post Office. We do have over 600,000 employees and deal with 70 billion articles of mail a year, sometimes, some stuff gets missed. In fairness I once had a computer delivered by FedEx. The driver was kind enough to leave it at the house ACROSS the street from mine (on the porch -- in a Gateway box) even though I was home, and they were out of town over the weekend. Oh, and did I mentioned it rained that weekend. When my neighbors called the following Monday to say they had it, the Box was soaked! Fortunately, the PC was in a plastic bag inside the box.... Everyone makes mistakes.

If you are still waiting to receive something PM me your delivery con. number, I can look it up on our internal system, frequently we have better info than you get on usps.com.... FWIW, I have never received anything from any E-cig company any way other than via USPS, for price on these small items we blow everyone else away (and we pick up for free too.....)

John

Edited to add: PS, if there are any suppliers reading this who'd like to have a USPS rep come out and show them how they can save money, please PM me, and I will have someone in your area contact you, we can provide free boxes and other services, rebates on express mail etc.

i personally chose usps as my shipper as i can pass on price savings to my customers, shipping times are pretty much the best going, and i get a little extra love from my post office that ups just would never do. gotta love they let me pick up and deliver pacckages when they are closed to every other person :)

That's very nice of you! I have never had a problem with USPS delivery but if I ever do, I'll remember you. I have had far more problems with the other guys! :thumb:

Like I had stated, My aunt is a sorter for my town, she's keeping me as updated as possible.

It'll be here tomorrow. It was in Birmingham yesterday.
