Using an Evod battery the best fit is the Protank Mini, that said, all will work fine. The dual coils on the PT3 and 3.5 will reduce the battery more as they take more power to fire, but all will work. The coils differ from the PT3 and the Mini so yes each has a different mechanical design. I hope I answered your question!:D

The protank 3 and 3.5 use different (slightly more expensive) coils than the 2 and mini 2.

I prefer a smaller tank as I compulsively change flavors 3-4 times a day, and I am in love with my mini 2's. You have to rewick them with cotton or rayon to get rid of the gurgling and leaking but once you throw a microcoil (1.4mm ID 12/11 wraps) in there the difference is night and day!

I use a ProTank 3 on a eGo for running around and @ work. Mine is pass-through charging, I don't buy anything other type of charging for them as it seems all the batteries that explode are from the other types of chargers. eGo Style chargers? I don't even know what they are called  Pass-through or nothing for me in that regard. It just makes me feel better that there is a little circuit board there to help make it a little safer and the fact that I can vape while it is charging and that I guess was the biggest selling point for me.

Oh yea I forgot all about the different size atomizers that they use that is the other difference besides tank volume.

There have been some complaints in the past about PT 3 having more leaking issues. I like my PT mini 2. The only leaking issues I've had is when I left it in the car during a sunny south GA summer day. I think the heat thinned the juice and allowed some to pass thru to battery. I don't do that anymore and no problems since.

But other than its looks, what would be the benifits to the other 3 tanks that hold more liquid if the battery is the same?

The miniprotank uses eGo thread, not 510 thread; better airflow, electrical/mechanical contact.

The protank3 is now superceded by the aerotank.
There is also the miniaerotank which uses eGo thread.

I'd say choose between the miniprotank2v2 and the miniaerotank.

The differences are:
1: the aerotanks come with an airflow control base.
2: the aerotanks come with dual coil.

if you're going to buying new coils all the time instead of recoiling or rewicking, then might as well get the miniaerotank.
If you're looking at redoing your coils, single coils are easier to work with; you can probably recoil the dual coil as a single coil.

I use a PT2 with a Kanger AFC base. The base actually cleared up any leakage, not to mention better airflow. I have been using the same coil for going on 3 months....YES I said it...3 months....Here is why I think....I use a 1mm flavor wick in place of the original once it goes bad. I remove the coil and the old FW, then using pliers I run hot tap water over the coil for a few minutes, also run it through the connection pin. I wipe off the excess water then using a blow dryer on hi heat dry it, takes about a minute or so, then using the cool setting just to make it cool enough to handle...I then dry burn it @ 15w until I no longer get any smoke, cooling it off after every burn by blowing on it...5 or 6 burns. I then repeat the running under water but I then use a little distilled water just as a final rince...blow it dry.

I then prime the coil section and cut a 1mm silica wick to fit, prime it then replace the chimney/silicone cap and re install it in the base. Back to a fresh vape for a day or so. Been dong this for about 3 months now.:D

Yes I know.....I don't believe it either:lol:

so if the batteries are the same, do you reccomend the protank mini or the protank 3 ? There are no protank 2's and I have a really good coupon! Thanks :)

They are pretty much the same thing, the mini is just smaller and as such needs to be refilled more often. That may be a benefit if you like switching flavours often, or don't vape so much that multiple refills a day becomes tedious.

When I started, I purchased 6 ProTank 2 Mini's just so I could try out many different flavours easily.
