Stay with higher VG and drink LOTS of water - both PG and VG will dehydrate you, possibly causing the mucus etc. Let us know how you fare!

Hi all, as title says, I have a serious problem (serious for me at least).

I have been vaping for 6 months now, and through start until now I used this forum as place to find information, but now after reading 100s of posts on this topic I cannot find anything that would help me directly.

My problem started 1 month a go. When I vape PG I get chest pains and short breath! If I reduce PG content it gets better. It is tolerable at 50% PG, 41% VG 9% demi water (VPG base I got from inawera shop). Problem that appears after increasing VG content is that I get a lot of mucus, throat clogging etc.

I tried various mixtures ( NOTE: I am talking about vaping e-liquid BASES ONLY! No flavors were used only base! )

100% PG
90%PG 10% VG
75%PG 25% VG
60%PG 30% VG 10% water
50%PG 41% VG 9% water

maybe even more in between.

I am tolerable guy, I can go with 50/41/9% but I got a lot of mucus so it is far from perfect solution but it is better than what I feel when I vape PG...

So my question is, anyone with same problem here got it solved? Can you recommend me to try some mixture or are my vaping days over :( ?

Thanks

I had a reacton to the Gorilla Juice. I think you're right. Unortunately I will know if it isn't 100%. Currently I am smoking. Cant use VG base. At MtBakerVapor do usse use 100% vg or 70 vg 30 distilled? I didnt think vapors choice was 100% VG. Wll double check.

I'm not too sure what MtBakerVapor uses. They offer what they say is 100%VG, but like others have said, they could use PG based flavoring. I have emailed MtBakerVapor for you, and I will let you know when they reply. When you say you can't use "VG base" what does that mean? What exactly do you need?

Vapors Choice is different from Vapers Choice ;). I've only seen it at Welcome to Ecigsupply - For all your E-Cig needs and at www.zikiwd.com. I don't know how to contact Vaper's Choice directly for you or I would. :( I would tell you to order a 10ml bottle to try it out, but your reaction to PG is pretty severe, so I'm not sure if that's the best idea.

EDIT: Here is a direct link to Vapers Choice juices at ecigcupply.com. http://www.ecigsupply.com/Vapers-Choice_c_40.html

Quote from their website
"Vapers’ Choice Silver Label is 100% Vegetable Glycerin based, that means it will produce more vapor over Propylene Glycol based E-Juices, but with considerably less throat hit. "

EDIT: That's a no go on the MtBakerVapor Lori. I'm sorry! :(

Here is the email they responded with:

"Yes our flavorings are PG based along with our nicotine. So you can not buy a 100% VG product from us. Sorry for the troubles. "

One thing this Forum can not do is give the best Medical advice. We can't examine you like a visit to the Doctor. Plus there is not likely to be a Sheepskin or a Medical License on our Avatar. If you have a medical problem with vaping see a Doctor ASAP and slow down or stop vaping. I find myself Vaping more than I smoked. If you do that to an extreme you will probably have a problem.
ditto...
Still, the mucus could also be a sign that your lungs are healing, and getting rid of all the crap you've been inhaling with analogs (tar, etc.)...

New here and still gathering information....glad to know about the possibility of dehydration if I don't drink keep my h2o intake up!

Everyone dehydrates keep youe water up. BTW I read that if the edges of your tougue get a bit scalloped you're dehydrated. :)

These Suppliers offer 100% VG...

Heather's heavenly Vapes. (Purity line only) (All flavor ingredients in our Purity line are propylene glycol (PG) free which is why we can offer this particular vape in your favorite PG/VG ratio including 100% organic VG if desired.)

Highbrow Vapor (We can certainly create an all VG juice for you)

My Vapor Store (We recently released added a new line to our US Made Eliquids in full VG cut
with 8% water (to thin out the VG).)

Johnson Creek Red Oak line only ( Yes our VG is 100% VG only. We created this line due to the sensitivity some experience with PG and we wanted everyone to be able to enjoy our Smoke Juice.)

As Silcia wicks start to degrade. You can inhale 'sicila needles'. Though usually not a biggy. Little bits break off and you ingest them. Getting logged in the lungs and throat.

You can also cut VG with water. I believe its 20%, don't quote me though. May help.

If your not allergic, try some other heating elements and brands.

I have to ask does anyone woth a PG allergy have Fibromyalgia?

Now this was a surprising question. I do have Fibromyalgia, and I did get light to moderate allergy like symptoms from PG-based juices. I never considered them to be related to my Fibro. Although my Fibro has been a bit bad lately, I think I can link it to other causes than vaping. I'm ofcourse vaping VG now, mixing myself from VG base and VG nicotine. The flavor concentrates are PG as far as I know, but I seem to be okay with that.

Another issue for me was a slight throat irritation, and an asthmatic whisle from my throat right after vaping. The latter cleared up with just one deep breath, but the irritation stayed longer. Removing all silica from my atomizers removed these issues completely. Currently I'm using SS covered pure cotton wicks on my Kanger T2. Vivi Nova Mini and some others are on the way, but I will do the same mod to all of them.

Yes I was surprised too when I was asked. But so far many of the PG allery people are awware that they have FM. Interresting huh? Sore throat is a symptom of a PG allergy. Jusy keep it in the back of your head. Let me know how it goes for you.

same thing happened to me - had to smoke tobacco every now and then, otherwise was coughing up a lung and spew. they say it is too much stuff coming up too fast, need to slow it down a bit

I remember that happening in the beginning. Vapolog I am fairly sure that isn't it. You are vaping too long. Welcome to the ECF krislovesflavor. Steeping is for taste only. :)

Just a thought, could it be related to FM possibly being an inflammation in the body, and if the PG is an allergenic component, it would make the inflammation worse?

My throat doesn't get sore if I use non-silica wicks, even with PG juices. It was more like a slight rough, coarse or rash kind of a feeling that to me really does sound like irritation from the microscopic silica particles. It is a lot lesser on the new bottom coil CE3s I got today, which also makes sense as the silica is a lot further away.
