I am 46 and I had ulcerative colitis when I was 13 that turned into colon cancer at the age of 29. They took out my entire colon because it was 99% full of ulcers and hooked up my small intestine with a J-Pouch. I did pretty good for a few yrs. but started having a lot of abscesses with fistula and ended up with a permanent Iliostomy bag about 6 yrs ago. I quit smoking 2 months ago after smoking for 30 yrs. The problem I'm having is I'm getting a lot of bloating and gas in my bag especially at night. I use a Itaste mvp with a Kanger Pro tank 3 and was wondering if anybody else that may have an Iliostomy or colostomy has had this problem and have found things that could help. I didn't have this problem when I smoked regular cigs and I for sure don't want to go back to smoking. Thank you ECF and God Bless you all :)

I know that one of the main reasons is that I'm taking in a lot of air just like they tell you not to drink through a straw when you have a bag. What kind of setup would get me more smoke without sucking in so much air?
The only way to get more vapor is to get more air.

What type of equipment do you use to vape with?

I've UC myself, mostly from quitting smoking. Happens. Since you don't have all your parts down there anymore, perhaps quitting smoking won't irritate things, maybe it will...

I'm on GasX type pills everyday, sometimes twice. I'd have much more pain if not.

Have you been to the Healingwell forum? Great place for answers to these things.

PM me here if needed, there are a few of us UC'ers around...

Hi Rickster. My wife has a permanent colostomy now due to colon cancer that was close enough to the sphincter muscle that standard resection was not an option... I understand exactly what you are talking about and have a pretty good idea of what you are dealing with...

What you need is a vape with a tight draw. This would more closely simulate the draw you got from the smokes. It will reduce the amount of vapor that you get, but I'm thinking you're more concerned with staying off the cigs than you are chasing clouds...
If I'm not mistaken, the Kanger Protank has a fairly airy draw... I would suggest maybe switching to carto-tanks... check out IB Tanked or Phiniac and get some pre-punched Boge cartomizers or the pre-punched Smok cartomizers that IB Tanked carries... either would serve you well and provide a tighter draw than you are getting from the Kangers. The carto-tanks would also work very well with your MVP... best of luck, man... let me know if I can help any further...

    *Edit to add*
I would also suggest raising the nicotine level of your juice... more nic would mean less vaping required... more bang for your buck, ya know?

Thank you all soooooo much !! A tighter air draw seems like the perfect solution. You are all so helpful and I will try it all out and post when I find what helps so that maybe in the future I can help someone else out like you have helped me :)

That's what it's all about, man... I absolutely love the community here, and everyone is just very friendly and helpful... I hope that you find the vape that keeps you off the cigs forever. It's out there, trust me... there is definitely an option out there for everyone!

hmm you're swallowing air..maybe if you could lung hit (and that's with a lower nicotine for me)

just thinking it through..never had a patient that vaped that had your issues..but other things like straws..

tighter draw less air.. or quick hot and fast, like an istick with a v2 wide open straight to the lungs (I was trying it out..you close those air holes..you are sucking longer albeit tighter but harder.

you want the smallest "puff" with the biggest vapor..have you tried dripping?

bypassing the stomach no matter how you do it will net in less gas
(sorry for the rambling..just thinking out the rationale)
