I have no idea what I bought

After a few weeks on ecigs, I tossed them because I wasn't getting a good fix and I had weird side effects (bad nausea, very high irritability, etc). I'm trying to get back on track because I actually hate analog. I figured my side effects were do to overdosing, because I bought the stuff online.

This time, I went in person to buy a vaporizer. I found the "best shop in town" using Yelp and Google (looked at reviews)... lo and behold, this place was a mess. There was a wandering dog in there, some dude sleeping in the middle of the room, and the people working there looked like they were using something a little stronger than a vapor. I won't say the name of the shop for obvious reasons, but I say all of this so you can get a feel for what I was dealing with to discern the integrity of the product.

In any case, I was immediately approached by someone who knew what he was talking about. He asked, "What brand did you smoke and how much?" I smoked Pall Mall Menthols - half a pack a day. He let me sample as much as I wanted, which was great. I ended up going with 12mg of something called "Menthol Lumberjack" because it seriously smelled, tasted, and felt fantastic.

When I got home, I seemed to mess it up a bit, but after some Googling, I figured out what I did and how to fix it. Now, I'm getting a weird crackling sound and not a lot of mist is coming out of the thing. I'm afraid to inhale too hard because I don't exactly want to accidentally swallow liquid glycerin. Any pointers are appreciated.

The tank says Aspire, but when they had me pick colors of the 3-part vape at the shop, they never did tell me what I was buying. So, just the tank could be Aspire for all I know. In all honesty, this thing looks like a 1930s syringe or a pipe used to smoke illegal substances . Sort of not completely sold on it, but I wanted to quit analogging as fast as I could (time of year).

Lastly, the actual vaporizer itself. I have no idea what brand it is in case I need to replace a part. I used the picture guide provided on this website, but none seem to match, so I took some pictures... which I apparently can't link. So, if you can identify what this is without pictures, that'd be great.

Your topper having Aspire on it is a good brand, they are a well respected company.
Problem is they make a wide range of toppers, (cartomizers, glassomizers, tanks...etc.)

If you look around on their website, Aspire online shopping - Best E Cigarete, Clearomizer, electronic cigarette and find something that looks like yours. Copy the link back into this thread and not only will you know what you bought, but we could help you easier to get a good vape from it.....:vapor: We can get this figured out for you.

p.s. Welcome to ECF and congrats on switching from smoking....:toast:

Welcome!

By the way the side effects that you are experiencing are likely due to withdrawal from the myriad of toxic chemicals in a cigarette. Your body is detoxifying, believe it or not. After a few weeks the symptoms should subside.

Try to remember what a cold turkey quit feels like. This time you have nicotine so it should be easier. But you are bound to feel crappy for a bit, just not as strung out.

As you would if you were to quit smoking without vaping; drink a ton of water and if you get frustrated by something then leave it alone for now and come back to it later.

ETA (edited to add); Can you take a picture of your set-up or as Stosh said link us what looks like your Aspire version?

Sitting down, facing forward.
Welcome to ECF and giving vaping another try.

The popping you're hearing isn't necessarily a bad thing. Think about what happens when a relatively cool liquid hits the hot surface of a skillet on the stove. It pops and sizzles. The same thing happens in an atomizer, topper, on an ecig. It can mean you're running at to high a power level as well if you have a variable voltage or variable wattage battery, VV/VW. Keep experimenting a little and you'll find out the best spot for your setup. Incidentally, a tiny drop of glycerine or propylene glycol won't hurt you, just don't drink the stuff like it's soda, LOL.
