Hey all!
Just joined here and I'm totally new to this. I'm a non-smoker (I used to indulge in the occasional cigar, but that's about the extent of my smoking experience) looking to get into e-cig vaping. I'm really only interested in the flavors, so I'll be looking for 0% nicotine liquids. I don't really know where to start though. I'm trying to figure out what some good and reputable web stores are, what some good e-cig starter kits would be. Pretty much trying to get an idea of what I should be on the lookout for and where. I did go to a local smoke shop yesterday to try to get some help, but they were sold out of all their kits due to the holidays, so it looks like I'll be buying online. If you guys could help get me pointed in the right direction, that'd be great. Thanks!

I have has success with 101vape, vape dojo, provape, and ecblends for equipment. I like The Vapor Chef, Seduce Juice, Gremlin Juice, Adarondak Vapor, and Giant Vapes for premium juices. For less expensive juices I have found ECBlend to have nice juice. They also stock a lot of odds and ends for vaping as well.

I have heard nice things about mount baker vapor but have not had a chance to try them.

Good luck!

You can find what would be considered an ideal setup in this link:

A GOOD STARTER SETUP FOR A BEGINNER VAPER

Finding flavors is kind of hit or miss. We could tell you what flavors we like, but that doesn't mean YOU will like them. Same holds true with individual e-liquid manufacturers. Taste is extremely subjective.

Best course of action is if you are able to find a local B&M shop which has a juice flavor sample bar to try the flavors before you purchase any. If not able to do this, many online vendors offer sample packs to try for minimal cost. This way you don't pay for a larger bottle of juice that you may not care for.

This link may help. It is a poll of what member's favorite flavors are for 2013 in different categories:

I'm new as well but I've tried a few different juice manufactures. Johnson's creek, buck naked, virgin vapor, and rocket fuel. All of those except for buck naked I've enjoyed just about everything I've tried. Some flavors more than others but I was ripped off by the guy that sells the buck naked locally and maybe that's what put a bad taste in my mouth! Trial and error really, my favorite two so far are drunken pirate pudding from virgin vapor and rocket pop from rocket fuel.

Welcome to the forum.

If I may ask, why do you want to start vaping if you are a non-smoker?

I'm in the same boat, brng. Well, I used to smoke but I've effectively quit for a few years now, but wanted something to puff on. I've decided to go with the epipe, since I feel like I'm finally "dignified" enough to pull off a pipe look, and that's more the vibe I'm going for - I'm not going to be standing outside my office bldg lighting up with the analoggers, just looking for a relaxing vape at home on the deck at sunset...

Anyway, I'm pretty new too, but here's what I've learned; start with an inexpensive rig, something compatible with the 510 system ideally since that offers the most options. Once you've figured out if you like vaping, you can upgrade your rig, but there's no reason to spend hundreds on a hobby you might not like. I personally went with a Karma K1000 for about $50, but you can get ecig kits for around $30 I think. Second, order online is fine. Maybe folks have great local vape shops, but I haven't found one in NYC and going in to the "head shops" resulted in some poor juice and wasted money. Finally, when it comes to juice, order a few different types from the same vendor - juices seem to fall in to a few different categories, like tobacco, fruit, sweet/cake, and botanicals. It's worth trying them all, I think, just to see where your tastes are. And of course they can be mixed so if you get a tobacco and want to mix it with a little fruit you can make an easy custom blend. Oh, and you'll have to experiment a bit with the whole pg/veg thing; some people seem to prefer vg while others prefer a blend or pure pg. most juice companies offer all favors with options.

Personally, I started with tobacco, vanilla mint and an earl grey tea concoction from Free State Vapor and the service was great. I'm still experimenting (and haven't tried the earl grey yet) so I can't say what my juice preference is.
