SFATA (Smoke-Free Alternative Trade Association) is a national organization that is actively fighting against 'unreasonable' vapor product regulation and lobbying for our rights at the national level.
SFATA Illinois is the local chapter that focuses on Illinois issues.
SFATA Illinois has contracted the firm of Leinenweber Baroni & Daffada LLC to spearhead our lobbying.
They sent out candidate questionnaires last election to find out where the candidates stood in relation to vapor products, they have been in contact with the author of upcoming legislation about amending the language of the Bill to make a clear distinction between smoking and vapor products and they have set up a series of meetings with legislators so that our voice may be heard ahead of this spring's legislative session. Without professional lobbying help, no industry can be successfully represented against opponents and challengers working to defeat their interests.
Unfortunately, consumers, no matter how vocal, do not have the fire power of orchestrated lobbying. There is no existing organization that performs this duty at the State level and why SFATA Illinois is so desperately needed. The State of Illinois has a cash shortfall in its budget - it is a good bet that they will seek to make up that shortage - in part - by taxing vapor products. That tax will fall on YOU. Help us help you and support the fight!
