I know it's hard. I know it can be frustrating. But I think you can do it.
I agree 1000% with everyone else who says drive to a brick and mortar store and try out juice and equipment even if it means a long drive. It is so worth it. I have bought so much juice online that sounded so delicious in the description…and not a one of them is a juice I vape on the daily. I probably have 20 bottles of juice sitting in a shoebox waiting to be gifted to another vaper. But I've also found three or four good juices that I can vape all day and rotate out every so often so I don't get bored with them, and I did that by going to the vape shop and sampling LOTS of juice. Everyone's taste is different, as others have said, and you can also expect your tastebuds to change a little as your mouth and tongue heal up from smoking and your sense of smell starts to come back. I started vaping on a flavor called RY4, which many companies make versions of, and it was a nice substitute for tobacco taste that was sweet enough that I could taste it really well even with my "smoker's tongue" and even though I have branched out into different kinds of flavors, I still use it sometimes.
Also, a b&m can help you find the right hardware, which is really important. I started out on an eGo battery, moved to an eGo twist, then to an MVP 2.0 and now I am using an iStick and I really feel like that is the right setup for me that I can be happy with and use every day for a long time. If you really want to use vaping to quit smoking, you need a decent battery with a good long life (and preferably a backup for when that one is charging) and a decent clearomizer that is going to give you that satisfying feeling in your throat and lungs. Otherwise, the temptation to break down and smoke is really great…especially if you've had a long frustrating day and your stupid battery craps out on you. Changing the wattage which gives you a warmer, more satisfying vapor that has more of a "smoking" sensation. To me this was a lifesaver, as even though vaping tasted nice and satisfied my nicotine craving, my body also craved the feeling of inhaling and exhaling smoke and with a non variable voltage battery the vapor was so cool and light that it felt sometimes like sucking on a straw and getting no "satisfaction". EGo batteries (the kind that are long and round and look like a pen) that are variable wattage don't cost much more than regular eGo batteries, and are worth it IMO.
There is really no reason that 100.00 shouldn't be enough to get you a decent setup and some good juice…but IMO it is better in the long run to go to a physical location where you can sample juice, and see and touch your hardware before you buy it. I think it saves money in the long run VS buying stuff online site unseen or relying on other people's recommendations over the internet, as everyone is different and has different experiences.
Good luck! I
