I have returned to cigarettes bad experience, e-juice terrible!

I know it's hard. I know it can be frustrating. But I think you can do it.

I agree 1000% with everyone else who says drive to a brick and mortar store and try out juice and equipment even if it means a long drive. It is so worth it. I have bought so much juice online that sounded so delicious in the description…and not a one of them is a juice I vape on the daily. I probably have 20 bottles of juice sitting in a shoebox waiting to be gifted to another vaper. But I've also found three or four good juices that I can vape all day and rotate out every so often so I don't get bored with them, and I did that by going to the vape shop and sampling LOTS of juice. Everyone's taste is different, as others have said, and you can also expect your tastebuds to change a little as your mouth and tongue heal up from smoking and your sense of smell starts to come back. I started vaping on a flavor called RY4, which many companies make versions of, and it was a nice substitute for tobacco taste that was sweet enough that I could taste it really well even with my "smoker's tongue" and even though I have branched out into different kinds of flavors, I still use it sometimes.

Also, a b&m can help you find the right hardware, which is really important. I started out on an eGo battery, moved to an eGo twist, then to an MVP 2.0 and now I am using an iStick and I really feel like that is the right setup for me that I can be happy with and use every day for a long time. If you really want to use vaping to quit smoking, you need a decent battery with a good long life (and preferably a backup for when that one is charging) and a decent clearomizer that is going to give you that satisfying feeling in your throat and lungs. Otherwise, the temptation to break down and smoke is really great…especially if you've had a long frustrating day and your stupid battery craps out on you. Changing the wattage which gives you a warmer, more satisfying vapor that has more of a "smoking" sensation. To me this was a lifesaver, as even though vaping tasted nice and satisfied my nicotine craving, my body also craved the feeling of inhaling and exhaling smoke and with a non variable voltage battery the vapor was so cool and light that it felt sometimes like sucking on a straw and getting no "satisfaction". EGo batteries (the kind that are long and round and look like a pen) that are variable wattage don't cost much more than regular eGo batteries, and are worth it IMO.

There is really no reason that 100.00 shouldn't be enough to get you a decent setup and some good juice…but IMO it is better in the long run to go to a physical location where you can sample juice, and see and touch your hardware before you buy it. I think it saves money in the long run VS buying stuff online site unseen or relying on other people's recommendations over the internet, as everyone is different and has different experiences.

Good luck! I

:2c: I don't think you gave it enough time. My juices didn't taste good at first...I didn't know about steeping, I didn't know how long to hold down the button (mmm burned tank - hey, I needed nicotine!), I didn't know what I liked, and so many other things. Give yourself a break, make sure you get enough nicotine, and wait for your taste buds to chill out. And go to a tasting bar - worth the drive. Good luck this time!

I live in Columbian country about 1 hours drive to Youngstown. I think in Youngstown their must be a few vendors. I'm going to just order online again at another site and get a few samples.

ImFedUp, I'm in Stark County. If you're not too far from the Alliance and Canton Area, there are several good shops in the area.

E-Cignificance, I go to in Canton has a store in Alliance also. There also is an Altsmokes in Belden Village.

The staff at E-Cignificance are very helpful, but their prices are higher than shopping online. I don't mind shopping with them time to time because I like to support local businesses. I haven't been to the Altsmokes. E-Cignificance only sells their own juice line, but you can sit all day and sample all you want.

I've only been vaping two months, but I thanks to this forum I found VapeWild.com which has very affordable juices that are priced cheaply, and they throw in freebies.

I have to agree with most of the responses here. I'm lucky in that I have 10 vape shops within about 15 miles of my house. I can go to any of them and try their juices. I've spent almost $100 ordering juices online from half a dozen online vendors and with the exception of ONE flavor (Spearmint from Vapewild), the rest have been ok at best - mostly I find the aftertaste to be just awful. I finally decided that the only way I'll be able to vape something is to taste it beforehand. I started with plain menthol for the first month, then branched out into single fruit flavors (apple, strawberry). Now I appreciate some custards and chocolate blends. Your taste will probably change with time, but finding just one or two at a shop you like will be all you need. If you can make it into a shop, they will probably teach you to fill, use, and maintain your setup properly so you get the best experience you can.

to ecf ImFedUp. So glad you are here and it sound like you should listen to your doctor. It can be frustrating find a juice that makes your taste buds dance. First off, you are not going to find something that tastes exactly like a cigarette. But you can find flavors that make you happy. I did both for a while and I started cutting back. When I got down to 2 cigarettes a day, they started tasting nasty to me and I just started vaping full time because I loved it.

Maybe start out with juices that are not so complex. Simple juices. I started out loving peach and still use it. While you are searching for juices to try, I think it is also a good idea to find them on sale. Here is a thread were you can find some really good deals.

Good luck to you and I really look forward to reading more about you and your successful vaping.

Hiya fedup.....<43 years smoking.....tried it all......nothing worked......'till I found vaping!!!.....yeah the juice thing is hit and miss. I keep a journal and rate them from 1-10. It makes it easy to keep track of which ones I prefer....and of course me being money wise I will vape them ALL to the last drop....good or bad...lol
I will not wish you luck as luck has nothing to do with quitting smoking....I will wish you congratulations for not giving up!....VAPE TO LIVE then LIVE TO VAPE:D

What I found also, was the higher nicotine levels can make the juice taste nasty. I started with 18mg, and it was nasty. I then went down to 12. It was much better. I now have better juice, that must use a higher quality nicotine, because I don't get that nasty nicotine taste like I did from my B&M juice that they "mix in house while you wait.

I recommend the istick with nautilis mini tank as a great starter kit, and get good juice. I like my coval vapes and Five pawns. Those are 2 that I have tried recently, and they are waaay better than the cheap stuff I use to buy.

Start with simple, single flavor juices. For example, I got Virginia tobacco and a fruity flavor - grape. They tasted like what it said on the label.

Secondly, start with cutting down number of smokes into half. If you're a 2 PAD smoker, make it 1 PAD for a week and next week 1/2 PAD.
Vape as much as you can simultaneously.

After a few weeks, you'll find that the smokes don't taste so good. You'll have to decide to stop smoking but you'll find it easier to quit completely as you've already cut down and you'll be getting nicotine from vaping. You may still crave cigarettes even after you quit completely but don't give in.

I was totally addicted to smoking for 27 years. I tried quitting twice (6 and 8 months) with the aid of drugs but relapsed. This time it's easier with vaping.

Just a thought... aside from your problem with the juice flavour have you changed the way you "puff" or "inhale" for e cigs. I'm also new to this, about 5 weeks. As a 2 pack a day smoker I was really over working my e cig. Try long slow drags and give your device time to cool off between drags. I keep 2 handy so I can alternate. If you overheat the device and or juice the flavour suffers. Also you need to pull the vapour into your mouth give it a split second and then draw it into your lungs.Don't try and inhale straight to the lungs, it can be unpleasant. Experiment and use what works. I wasn't impressed with e cigs the first couple weeks either. I'm now smoke free for 3 weeks and truly believe this is going to work for me. If we stick it out until we get the hang of it we just may be able to quit smoking, improve our health and still enjoy the relaxing and sensory aspects we used to need cigarettes for.

I would suggest my all day vape from a local to me vendor. It's a RY4 version called RonY4 from Liberty Vapor. Almost positive they make it in house. They have two locations in PA and you can order from the website. I have tried many different flavors and have a subscription to Zample box that I'm close to canceling. Never have a found something to replace it. After all the fruity, bakery and other tobacco flavors I have tried none have been able to match the taste of this one in my opinion.

It took me a long time to find a good juice and during that time i was still smoking. I found that after a cig i would have a nasty taste no matter what juice i tried. Maybe this is what's going on. If you can't get your hands on a local juice bar try epic juice out of California. They have a sample pack and try lower nic levels. For me 3 is perfect but i do sub ohm so I'm taking in a lot of vape but even with the pro tank I couldn't do anything over 10 as it was just to much and I was smoking 2 packs a day at that time.

So, I'm not going to say "Go to a store" cause I read your posts, and an hour out of your way on a long-shot (in your mind) is understandably not something to be enthused about.

In general there are a few major flavor profiles:

Tobacco
Caramel
Dairy
Fruit
Candy/Novelty

Menthol is a creature unto itself, or an additive to other flavors.

I'm personally a caramel/tobacco person most days, but caramel/fruit and straight fruits are sometimes my thing as well.

There are some people out there who can't stand hardly any f the fruits because of a sweet 'aftertaste' that reminds them of artificial sweeteners (whether they are used or not)

I had my best luck with starting out on a tobacco flavor, and you might as well.

Appoloecigs.com offers a 5 bottle 'tobacco sampler' for order, and covers that spectrum pretty well.

Ahlusions.com is where I get a lot of my juices from, and they have a good selection of tobacco flavors, and would be willing to trade a few e-mails with you to determine your best purchases for a chance at success.

I'd really suggest trying a few more brands, getting sampler packs of some of he different flavor profiles.

Maybe I just got a bad e-juice or have a bad atomizer. I'm going to alocate an extra 100 bucks into a good battery and atomizer and a few sample juices. I'll buy all on another site not this AlienVapor site. Seems they may be an imatation company?? I maybe will buy 1 tabacco taste, and a few taste i like in general. I like for example banana nut bread and i see this site Mt Bakers sells that at a good price. I maybe will go to thier to shop to buy, seems people like them. I'll also make sure I'm not getting some imposter site. Also they seem patriotic and all their stuff is made in the USA. Thats good, I'm a retired army sergent.
Anyway I was hospitalized with a collpased lung due to over smoking, I literally coulnt breath. It was hell. After my hospital stay I bought cigerates. I can't quit.. I tried nicotine gum, was totally ineffective. I tried the patch was absolutley worthless, and I tried e-cigs to no avail, but maybe I just got junk with that. I am going to give it one more shot. I don't want to die just yet, the doctor told me if I dont quit that my lung could give out again and next time could be fatal.

please keep trying and experimenting! I watched my nan die of emphysema I was with her when she took her last labored breath! I wish I knew about this so I could have helped her. I also am a smoker and she is my inspiration to keep trying , but I agree with the others, your tastes will keep changing as your health improves. RY4 is working excellent for me right now. It is a tobacco kind of flavour with a sweet hit of caramel also.

Hang in there. It's worth more than a little trouble and expense to stop poisoning yourself. 48 years of pack a day and now is my 1 month milepost. What worked for me - a couple ego/510 spinner/twist batteries, one to vape while charging the other. Iclear 30s clearomizers. These do not leak no matter what position they are in. The replacement coils are more expensive than most tho, and can't be rebuilt. I got several straight tobacco juices from myfreedomsmokes at 24 mg strength. It's important to get that nic when quiting the sticks. I got some Kanger clearomizers because the coils can be rebuilt. Then I started to buy all kinds of stuff :). I found that unflavoured juice in 24 to 30 mg strength was just as, or nearly anyway, satisfying as flavored but YMMV. I was able to quit immediately upon getting my first rig a month ago. Trying to quit in the past was - extremely - difficult and annoying. I managed to get clean for 3 months once and fell right back into it. I haven't had any cravings I couldn't overcome fairly easily since I starting vaping. Surprised the heck out of myself. Slower drag and exhale thru the nose slowly to maximize nicotine intake. Happy christmas.

I tried the tobacco flavor as well so I could kick the habit, every now and then I'll use the tobacco when I consume alcohol. I started out like you with a simple vision spinner 2 battery and a kanger Aerotank mini and mega tank. Then as I got more experience I changed my set-up. Good luck to you and if vaping was easy then everybody would do it. Just gotta have restraint to ignore the urge for a cig and pick up the vape.
