I posted this over on RTV but wanted to let people here know how easy it is to enjoy shisha in your i-inhale without having a big cleaning job afterwards.

In the pics I used Soex herbal shisha, but you could use tobacco shisha too. Add a few drops of e-liquid to the herbal if you want the nic without using tobacco. The Herbal Life brand works great too. You need to be a bit more careful with Al Fakher tobacco shisha as it is very juicy and runny.

First off take a small square of baking foil.

Then push the foil into a cone shape

Take a pinch of your shisha and place it inside

Press the shisha down and fold back the edges of the foil, making a circular bowl shape around the shisha

Pop the finished, filled foil crucible into the I-Inhale's upper chamber, you want it to hold in place without being too tight, nor too loose so that it can invert and soil the lower chamber

This way, I find that you can simply throw away the 'pellet' afterwards and there is no cleaning up.

I am not sure if the foil has a coating that could evaporate into the vapour or not, something for me to look into further.

I have come to adore my i-inhale now, no batteries to charge, no atomizer to break. I am using Tim's gauze method to hold e-liquid when I just want to use it as a warm e-cig alternative. It works well and there is no need to change the configuration when I fancy some shisha. Its such a versatile bit of kit. I got it on offer for £119 and am a happy bunny!

I had an i-inhale for a few months now and i'd say there over priced and abit delicate but it is my favourite way to smoke. I broke 4 of the plastic bits that screw into the metal chamber, the middle heating pin wouldnt screw back in so i had to slightly deform the hole with pliers to get it to screw in. the gas leaks abit out the filler nozzle and if left on lying on a table it gets worryingly hot but hasnt exploded and removed my thumb yet. Actually i was walking round the park the other day for a few ours vaping away while keeping it going in my pocket and it was ok.

If you want a cheaper version the vapeair is near half the price and portable via a battery pack. Of course neither can pump out the vapor like my Volcano .

Yes the breaking plastic mouth-pipe issue has been resolved.

FYI there are no I-Olite models anywhere, the company have rebranded but the units are only in beta and have a fixed centre pin and no lower gauze. Otherwise they are identical to the I-inhale and removing the lower gauze makes your I-inhale into an I-Olite beta. There may be more changes tested before the I-Olite is in production - they are considering a rounded bottom to the chamber to make for easier cleaning. Currently you can only buy the latestl I-Inhale model.

Also they say not to run it in a pocket - the catalytic reaction requires a good supply of air and putting the unit into a pocket running hinders the process.

This was the first e-cig device I bought (and I'm not a herb user) after a few hours of researching the e-cig forums, the second a DSE901 (which I haven't gotten along with).

I was sold over not being tied into replacing atomisers, batteries, and recharging batteries etc. which keeps running costs low once you've bitten the initial asking price. These are the units definite plus points. I'm absolutely delighted with it. It's quirky, granted, but great for home and work use provided you keep a can of butane at work perhaps. You may not want to vape with this in the pub or out socially depending on your sense of humour (have you not noticed it looks like a baby alarm?).

For this reason, being the vain creature I am, I may be looking at getting the Greek Goddess from for such ocassions

That way I can still get some use out of my DSE901 parts and the amount of vapour I'm after with style to go and since I’d only be using it for more special occasions I wouldn’t be so concerned about the failing batteries/atomisers!

There are a couple california suppliers of these, and a few listed on eBay. The Iolites are the 'upgraded' ones? Not sure, but the going price in dollars is around $250. A bit steep.

There is no difference between the IOlite and the I-Inhale, just branding. Oglesby & Butler have been testing some modifications, having the central heating pin fixed and having no lower screen, but neither of these are in production units yet.

The units are expensive to manufacture, they work using a catalytic reaction by passing the butane over a platinum coated substrate. Add up how much you spend on an ecig with atomizers and batteries and suddenly the IOlite is cheap

Most people on this forum from the USA are still buying from smokejuice.co.uk for £140gbp delivered which is $230usd today. They are made in Europe so you will struggle to find a better deal.

Thanks for the info! This is a fascinating device. I was a 'make your own' cigarette smoker for 12 years, and when I started vaping nearly 4 months ago I quit smoking tobacco altogether. I still have 9 lbs. of halfzware shag, and if the worse thing happens I could soak it in glycerine and vape it with the I-inhale. I'll be a Iolite customer sooner or later.

Many thanks for the excellent information.

While it's not my main vape, I find that I use my I-Inhale every day. I love the warm vapor . . . very soothing. And a little bit goes a very long way. In fact, I only vape no nicotine or low nicotine solutions in it . . . anything stronger than that winds up being too intense for me. I think heating the solution makes the nicotine feel a lot more potent.
