I just bought an E-Cig and I have no idea what kind it is...

I went to a local tobacco store and bought a kit yesterday, it was the best looking one they had, for ~$60 (the others were 10 dollars less, and looked very cheaply made, so I opted for this one. It came in a black box with gold around the sides, and a magnetic flap that holds it closed. It came with two batteries and two atomizers in the tray on the top, which if I pull the little ribbon to remove there are three boxes underneath, filling out the box perfectly, one containing the wall charger, one containing the USB charger, and the other containing 10 cartridges. (with the tapered tips, kind of like a Black&Mild, only cigarette sized). Anyway, it didn't come with instructions or anything, and I can't find a brand name or even an indication of what type of threading it is, anywhere. There's a UPC sticker on the side, on the top it says "E-Cig Duel Kit", then the barcode, then underneath is the number 4065.The only other markings anywhere are the CE logo, the recyclable logo with the 3 arrows making a triangle and the ROHS checkmark logo. That's it. the cigs when put together are black with a gold ring where the atomizer and battery meet. (The gold ring is both on the bottom of the atomizers and at the top of the batteries.) Has anybody else seen this specific kit, and if so, tell me what it is? I'd like to buy some cartomizers, so that I can put more e-liquid in it than in the cotton-filled (or whatever is used, looks like cotton to me) cartridges, but I have no idea what the threading is. Oh yeah, the batteries also have the button on them, they're not the automatic draw kind, and the indicator light at the tip is blue.

WELCOME TO THE ECF

That might work out for you and yeah, unless you have a pic then it's gonna be hard to help you. From what you have described, it's basically the same type of e-cig that started it all. Owned one of those kits in 2008 but, it didn't give me the performance I was looking for. It's good that you got a manual button though. I'm guessing it's a 510 and so, you can either drip with it or use some cartomizers.

Very, very close, not sure if its the exact same one but I found my camera, so here are some pics.

Just noticed there are more pics than just that first one on that site you posted Homedude and the packaging is obviously pretty much identical, though I don't know what the cone thing in the box in that pic you posted is in the far left, but yeah, all the boxes inside look the same, as well as the main box.

Well after more research, thanks to that link you gave me Homedude, I think I got the standard Joye 510, not the eGo, although the charger that came with it matches the one in the eGo picture, not the one in the 510 picture. Either way, good to know I've at least its compatible with all the 510 cartomizers out there I'm finding.. Thanks for the help. Damned small town tobacco shops trying to pull the wool over the customers' eyes I guess, with no instruction manual and all.. Not that I needed it for anything else other than to find out what I had, but I guess I've just done that lol

Warning - do not assume you can use a normal 510 charger. One clone 510 uses reverse electrical polarity and its chargers will fry a normal 510 and vice versa. it's unlikely you have the reverse polarity one but it's something to be aware of.

Grats on choosing manual batteries. Fully sealed on the threaded end so they are almost impossible to damage or kill with juice leaks, and manuals make it easier to get a good hit. I recommend Boge cartomizers which are what most use on 510. Slim ecigs can use standard resistance only which is stuff 2.5 to 3 ohms. Cartomizers have limited lives (I can get 10 days use out of a Boge with thin clear juices) but they hold more than the cartridge, every one has its own fresh atomizer coil built in, keep your favorite flavors totally separate, and they won't suddenly dump 1/2 their juice. but you do have to keep them damp so they don't singe - you cannot restuff a cartomizer.

I'd tried the disposable e-cigs with the automatic batteries, eh a little over a year ago.. trying them out before I spent the large sum of money on a kit (should have done it then, would have saved me tons looking back) and that's the reason I went for the manual. Didn't so much experience the leaking, the battery just didn't last. At all. They came with two cartridges each (I think I went thru two of the disposables, maybe three..) and the last one didn't even last until the second cartridge. Even so, I guess even those lasted longer than the rechargables I have now.. I can't seem to get it to last three hours...then again, I'm constantly puffing on it..always got the other charging in my laptop...right now one's still charging and the other one is dead. annoying. I wonder if I still have one of those old disposables lying around..doubt it..and if I'd be able to recharge them..if the threading fits anyway..

Mind sharing the name of the shop where you bought the kit ? What else did they have e-cig wise ?
My location puts me up the road a bit from you but I actually live closer to the Woodlands/Spring than Conroe. There is supplier on the forum who is local to us and he has offers a local pickup option. I haven't bought anything from him yet but it's on my list. I also ran into a guy vaping in a local bar who sells kits online and will occasionally sell them at the side of the road in one of those impromptu flea market situations. It seems like I've met more local vendors than regular vapers.

Anyway, Cheers! Glad you figured out your kit. Feel free to PM if you want to discuss local sourcing for anything.

Oh, I'm out of town for the holidays, I actually bought the kit in Commerce, TX at Chaney's. They only had three non-disposable kits, and the other two were automatics and just looked really cheap.. down to the packaging.. you know the little cardboard and plastic hanger packaging..I haven't looked around in the Spring area yet, I will when I get back though, I'm sure.
