I just noticed as I was amending my sig that it's been two weeks without one of the "unmentionables". Folks I'm telling you if I could do this after 40+ years of constantly craving "them" I believe anybody can.:2c: You just have to make up your mind to try new things and make the initial investment needed to acquire them.
I also believe all the little tinkering and trying new flavours I do occupies my mind and hands which was a HUGE part of the addiction. My wife just looks at me and all my stuff and just shakes her head as she goes outside to smoke and you know I still go with her sometimes so we can talk. That was one of the times we spent just talking about things and I found I missed it. I offer to fix one for her but as of now she hasn't accepted.
I'll keep trying!!

I know how you feel. I've been trying to get off of the "unmentionables" as you so poetically put it. I find it's difficult when the wife goes outside for a break, or after dinner to not grab an "unmentionable" and join her. Several times so far I've grabbed my e-cig instead.

I've gone from 1.5 -2 packs a day down to a little less than .5 pack every 2 days. The rest of the time I'm vaping. I would probably have gone through more carts, if I had realized that they were "dead" sooner than I was giving 'em credit for. I assumed (yup it's true what they say about assuming) that if you could still draw vapor, then they were still good to go... I now know differently

I think some of the ECF vets are still on the hunt for the "perfect juice" still. It's a quest I don't think some of us will ever find. I have been lucky in finding my all day vape, but still am curious as to what all the fuss over other juices is and have found myself trying them just to see for myself..... It seems neverending.....

Three things to never think:

#1: That you'll ever find an all day vape that won't lose its allure tomorrow.

#2: That you'll ever stop spending money on new, cool vaping stuff

#3: that your body will ever completely let you forget cigarettes. There's more to it than nicotine. Somewhere in that laundry list of 4000+ noxious chemicals, there's a few that appealed to the inner beast like plastic dog doo appealed to your inner adolescent.

I guess I got lucky. My wife and I quit the same time, shared a vaping kit and neither of us has touched
an "unmentionable" since. We laugh when in the car we roll down the window when we vape like
we did with um's.

Funny, I've caught myself rolling down the window in the car a few times myself ... old habits die hard.

I quit smoking after 30 plus years. This is my first attempt and so far so good. Always thinking about ciggs...that was one of the big reasons I never tried to quit before now. Plus I always heard how high the percentages are for people to actually quit then return to the stinkies again. It was so discouraging I didn't want to go through that. I never thought I'd be a quitter..never. I'm sooooo happy! I don't give ciggs a second thought unless it's when I remember how awful they are..as I reach for my super tasty vape of caramel cappuccino :)

I can say that I still get craving on a occasion however they aren't as strong as they were in previous attempts to quit. They are fewer and usually when I am at a stressful point and/or some time when it was significant. This is STILL the BEST attempt by me ever and I am extermely pleased with the results thus far. This could be just the thing to finally do it for me and I couldn't be happier about it.

Congrats on 2 weeks! That's awesome!

As for the all day vape, I have some favorites, but I still have to change things up or my favorites lose their appeal. When my tastebuds are being picky, I just make up some unflavored.

I can't really remember the last time I thought about smoking. My son was smoking until recently when I got him his own ecig kit and I smelled it on him (which I hated) but I honestly can't remember the last time I thought "man, I really want a cigarette"

I've been vaping almost 3 years now and it's as natural to me now as smoking ever was. It's just a lot more fun :D

If you're having a problem dumping that last few analogs, consider trying Snus to ease the transition. Make sure you get the Swedish style Snus, not the American garbage. I hear one of the American companies is FINALLY using the Swedish method, so you won't necessarily be limited to a few mail order sources. There's a lot of evidence that Snus can provide those trace elements in tobacco that are addicting like nicotine. I used them for awhile just before I discovered vaping and it helped me cut a 3 PAD habit by 1/3 to 1/2 pretty much effortlessly. I am convinced that the combination of Snus and vaping is 100% effective in kicking the habit for even the most inveterate smokers. Then, get away from tobacco flavored juices and weaning yourself off Snus becomes almost automatic.

Believe me, I know. For 35 years I was as heavy a smoker as there is. I'd smoke DURING meals and BEFORE sex. I hadn't entered a movie theater since they banned smoking. It was very hard for me to go to a restaurant. The day I got my first starter kit was the day I smoked my last cigarette ever, almost 2 years ago. I don't think about cigarettes. I never crave them. Never. I tried a Snus a few months ago and didn't enjoy the taste at all, despite the fact that they really do taste better than cigarettes. I'm not sure I could smoke an analog now if I had to.

My Dad told me (after quitting for twenty years and two heart attacks) he never went a day without thinking of having one. He just turned 90!

My dad did the same thing. He used to quit for 2 and 3 years at a time, then start back up again. He only quit for good after he was diagnosed with lymphoma and the chemo destroyed his sense of taste. I'm sure he craved them occasionally even after that. I think the difference between our dads and us vapers is that they were craving nicotine and the psychological aspects, the hand to mouth mechanics of smoking. I don't think vapers will have that problem unless we start vaping 0 nic and/or quit completely. Then, we are likely to crave vaping, not smoking.

I can tell you that after nearly 2 years I NEVER think about analogs, except when I shudder to think how expensive they've become and how lucky I was to have discovered e-cigs (and ECF).
