In my opinion, you have probably the best charger on the market at the moment. I've had a Pila, a Tenergy, and an XTar SP1, and the XTar VP1 is the best of the lot, hands down. The ProTank is one of the best toppers I own, and I have tried just about everything. Can't speak to the BB, but of the other two items you mentioned, I think you'll be quite satisfied. :)

Thanks Izan,

I bought two 900mAh protected batteries from the dropdown menu with the BB. They look to be Ultrafire.
As they are half the price of the AW protected (750mAh) and 2/3 the price of the AW IMR (600mAh), I am wondering if the mAh rating on those is the most pertinent point. I don't plan on running the BB outside of 3.7v (at 2.0-2.5 ohms, I'm guessing). Which of those batteries would be best for my use?

Whichever I use, if they need too frequent charging, I'll keep more than two in rotation.

Personally, I find 14500 batteries to be really close in life to Ego batteries.
If you are using Standard resistance devices, a protected high mAh battery should provide close to the 1 hour life per 100mAh "rule of thumb". If I remember correctly the actual mAh of the Ultrafires you bought is closer to 700 in actual use.
Perhaps next time you buy batteries, try the AW Protected.
(Most will suggest that moving past any battery with Fire or ultra in the name is a good idea.)

Have fun

Yes-- I just read that the AW protected batteries are mAh rated per their automatic low voltage cut-off point, and so might be no less long-lived, per charge, than the 900mAh I mentioned.

Do I need to stop short of the protection circuit cutting off the Ultrafire, in order to avoid putting it to sleep, or will this protection circuit actually do that work for me?

I wonder if this brand is close to the AW protected battery in performance-- it's a touch less expensive: http://www.maxprotactical.com/NiteCore_750_mAh_14500_Lithium_Ion_Battery_p/nc-14500-750.htm

Think of AW as the standard that other batteries should try to meet.
I would direct you here.

Yes, they are more expensive, but I'm confident they will work well for you.
