I just picked up an eGo-T from a local shop, new to vaping.

I used to smoke a 510-T, but after having some issues with my job and ex-fiancee, money was tight. The battery went out, and I didn't have the money upfront to replace it all. So, I went back to cigarettes.

I finally got back on my feet, and went to my local shop to get a new electronic cigarette. I walked in planning on buying an eRoll, but after listening to their reviews and opinions for a good hour or so, I decided the eGo-T was much better for me to start on.

So, I bought the starter kit, and 10ml of Zikwid's El Toro juice at 24mg of nicotine. I read a little bit about it before starting, learning that I should prime the atomizer, and all that fun stuff. So I took care of all of the "startup" before I took my first hit.

But, boy oh boy, was that hit harsh. I know it's a little harsh for someone switching from cigarettes to the e-cigs, but wow. What makes me scratch my head, though, is that the inhale is fine. Harsh, yeah, but very tolerable. That exhale, though.. it leaves my mouth and throat very uncomfortably dry, and burns. I hardly taste the "energy drink" flavor, too. So my first instinct was to think that I just got a bad atty. So I go through the steps to prime the second one that it came with, and it was much better. At first. Within the first 5-6 hits, the burning sensation returned.

I do recall my 510-T being fairly harsh, but nothing like this. I read somewhere that the higher nicotine volume can make the hit much harder. Does that actually affect the exhale, though?

In case anyone is wondering (I'm not sure how widely known each eliquid brand is, and all that. Still very new), the Zikwid brand is 50/50 PG/VG. With the old 510-T, I went with the Boge brand (also the energy drink flavor), which was 100% PG, but I do remember actually being able to taste it, and not coughing my lungs out while exhaling.

Any ideas would help greatly. Because after searching these forums, and other places on the net, I'm still at a loss.

You could purchase some VG at a local pharmacy or Walmart. Maybe the 24 mg is too strong for you. I wouldn't add too much VG because if your liquid is already 50/50 it might make it too thick. Maybe a few drops of VG and a few drops of distilled water.

The tanks tend to mute flavor a bit so I'm guessing the 24 might be a bit strong for you.

Also, drink lots of water while you vape. Even cough drops or something like that might help. Vaping tends to dehydrate you.

So if I were to try and pick up 10ml of 18mg, is there going to be a noticeable difference? Or is that too small of a difference to see? Because I smoke a pack a day, and 12mg sounds way low for me.

Unfortunately, that's something you just won't know until you try it. I've heard of light smokers that needed 36 to start and heavy smokers vaping low nicotine.

I'd go back to the smoke shop and see if they have 6 mg nicotine in the Zikwid's El Toro. That way you won't lose flavor but can mix them together to lower nicotine if you need it. Mix them together and you'll have 15 mg. Or just add a bit to lower it 20. You don't want it too low or you'll still have cravings, but you want to be able to vape.

I have been using and eGo-C with 18mg juice, tried out a friends 24mg juice, and it was way too much nicotine for me from the first drag. I was a pack-a-day Camel smoker for 25 years until 2 months ago, and I thiink 24 is pretty strong. If you try 18mg ejuice I think you'll find it quite a bit mellower.

I had an ego tank setup that produced harsh, nasty flavors. The smoke would give me a headache. I figured out how to fix it though.

Turns out, the tank caps weren't being punctured by the atomizer. So juice never wicked into the atomizer. The 'vapor' was caused by burning the primer liquid. Once the primer liquid vaporizer, the wick dried out and burned. The burning wick is smelly, disgusting and gives me a raging headache.

I burned up 3 atomizers until I figured out the tank wasn't punctured by the atomizer spike. I I'm guessing this is happening to you.

The E Go tanks were soft caps. I used a sharp knife to trim out the hole the atomizer was supposed to go through. Now the juice wicked and everything worked.

The burnt atomizer were a lost cause. Once the burning occurs, there isn't much you can do to get rid of the burnt nasty taste.

If you draw on the tank, with the power off, you'll get small bubbles in the tank if the system works correctly.
