Hi all,
Still pretty new at vaping and still sneaking an analog here and there. While at work today I had to run to an office that is up a steep flight of stairs (and I live at high altitude). This particular staircase I have always had problems with. By the time I get to the top I am always out of breath, lightheaded, well you all know. (BTW I am only 36). Today I ran up that flight of stairs (a little over one month since I began vaping) and when I got to the top I was fine. No problems breathing and not even winded... WOW. I am so grateful that I found vaping and am so grateful to this site. Thank you all,
Justagirl

Ive found much the same result . I`ve been vaping just over four weeks since being an over 40 a day smoker! (maybe more :( ) and I`ve recently just taken up longboarding again ( I used to be heavily into skateboarding in my youth, and Oh I`m 47 by the way  ). ) I`m manageing to get back up the hills I`ve just carved down on the board with little effort and I`m sure that before I stopped smoking and started vaping I would be panting like mad trying to do that! and I never considered myself that unfit!
It may sound dramatic but it has made a big difference to my ability to breathe and excercise properly and I look forward to even better results as although the damage (for me....35 years at 40+ rollies a day will take it`s toll!) has been done there will be more recovery as time goes on :)

Just going to add.. I`m sleeping a lot better as well, I don`t know if thats connected or not?

Congratulations! Justagirl, I'm 64 years old and I had the same experience as you except I didn't run up the stairs. Vault, yes sleeping better throughout the night is also a benefit from not smoking. I used to have to use a CPAP machine so I could breath at night. Now, I don't use it anymore and sleep like a baby without tossing and turning.

Vape on! :vapor:

I'm running a marathon Sunday, last time it took me 5 hours 40 because I just completely ran out of steam at 20 miles, now I'm smoke free it's looking like I'm going to take at least an hour 30 off my time, here's hoping!

Just to update.... I ran the marathon in a couple minutes over 4 hours. So that's an one hour forty quicker, and the only change to my training was vaping instead of smoking.

LOL... I was telling my husband a little while ago I am looking for the day that my knees (hereditary bad knees)will cooperate and let me try the stairs at work. A couple of months ago we had a power outage so I had to climb all 4 flights. By the time I got to my floor I was gasping for air, my heart was in palpitations, and I generally thought I was getting ready to die. Now I have a feeling it will be no problem at all.
